Paintings...
I have made several different painting through the years working in many different mediums ranging from oil to acrylics and watercolors.  I have found that I like the freedom that oil paint gives you when working with it.  I like being able to add in shadows and depth to create a realistic looking painting.  I also enjoy working with other materials, depending on what type of a composition I am making.  Below are some of my paintings I have done - I'm going to be putting more of  them up as soon as I can.  Enjoy!
This is an acrylic painting titled "Two Faces."  This was created as a rather simple painting with a bit of a variation on the normal drama faces.  I made this painting during my junior year of high school.   There is a ribbon on it because it was being displayed at the county fair when this picture was taken.
Here is a painting that I made my senior year of high school titled "Open Wide".  It is another acrylic, but I used a lot of airbrushing in this painting.  IT was the first time I had used the airbrush, so it didn't turn out as good as I had hoped, but I still like it.
Here is a couple of watercolor paintings that I did.  On the left is "Pink Sunset" and directly above is "Abstraction of Bubbles."  These were both made in 2002.

to Art
This is by far the largest painting that I have ever done.  It was created as a mural for the wall of the local nursing home for a special activity week that ended in a beach party.  The mural was 22 feet long and 8 feet high.  I used two pieces of large white paper taped together and then I painted it with watercolors.  I had fun painting it streched out all the way across our living room floor and using boards underneath it to have a hard enough surface to work on.  I did have some difficulty with the paper curling, other than that I think it turned out very well. I photographed it in three seperate sections, left, center, and right.
Here is a close up of some of the palm trees so you can see the detail of the mural.
This is the most recent painting I have made and I especially like this one.  It was made during my senior year of high school - 2003.  I used a stretched canvas and oil paint for this painting.  I worked on this one for 2 - 3 weeks by starting with a blank canvas and laying in the background and working to the front, putting in the large trees on both sides last of all.  I based this painting off of pictures I had taken when I had visited Gooseburry Falls earlier that fall.
Here is a picture of me working in art class my senior year of high school.  As you can see, when this picture was taken I was working on painting a guitar.  My mom let me have her old guitar she used to play when she was college and I stripped it down and then painted a country scene on it.  I was working on the back at the time, so you can kind of get an idea of what the front looks like.
