I started clowning as a 4-H project when I was in Second Grade and I have been doing it ever since then.  I have changed my outfit and my style since I've started, but I keep the same street name of Boo Boo the Clown.  I have done clowning at many community events, carnivals, county fairs, parades, and even in the nursing home where I work.  It is a lot of fun, I really enjoy it and I've gotten to be quite good at making baloon animals!!
I have changed the outfit that I use for my clowning many times.  I tend to use my own style and get away from the typical white faced polka dotted clown with the big shoes.  Right now my costume is almost all home made and it brings a lot of laughs.  I just keep adding things that I find around the house.  This year I made the addition of a clown bike that I used in several parades in the area.
Here are a few pictures of me that were taken this summer during local parades.  I was traveling with the nursing home that I work at.  We entered a float with the theme of the young and old joining together and having fun.  We included residents, staff, and some daycare kids on the float.
I have a monkey pal who always rides up front and waves to everyone we meet.  Also note the old style wire basket on the back with the Keep Out signs - that is where I keep my treasure!!!  But be carefull, you never know what a clown may do!!
This is the license plate that I created on my computer for the back of my clown bike.  I printed out a large copy and it turned out very realistic looking.  Note the letters - an easy way to display my clown name.
Clowning is very rewarding and it is so much fun when you see the joy and laughter it brings to a childs face.  It is even more rewarding when I see that adult who cracks a smile and waves back to me as I honk my little horn hello and give them a big smile.
I have been clowning around for many years now and it comes to me very naturally!!
I think this is where I got my start of clowning!  I would say that I am about 4 in this picture and my brother is 9.  We dressed up as clowns for Halloween and went trick or treating together.  I remember pulling out the costumes when I was little and playing with them a lot.
Don't we just look so Cute!!!
