Outstanding Young Adults
Each year my community has a program called Outstanding Young Adults.  This program is run by the local Women of Today.  People in the community are encouraged to nominate students who they feel are outstanding young adults.  They are especially looking for the qualities of outstanding leadership skills and community envolvement.  Each nominee must summit a resume and takes part in an interview.  It is a very wonderful program and the students who go through this program benefit greatly from it.  An awards ceremony is also held to acknowledge the nominees.  I have been very fortunate to have been nominated to take part in this program both my Junior and Senior year of high school.
Here is the group of us from my junior year.  Front: Nikki and Steph.  Back:  Lisa, Myself, and Chelsy.  We were a small group with three seniors and two juniors.
My senior year there was a very large group of us nominated.  We were all seniors and there was 14 of us in all.
Front:  Amy, Heidi, Jeama, Jenny, Sara, Dustin  Back:  Michele, Rachel, Lance, Lindsey, John, Becky, and Jenny.  Miranda was unavailable for the picture.
Here is a group of my friends and I who were all a part in this program.  Amy and Jenny are in the front and me and Rachel are in the back.
Myself and Karin.
Karin is one person who nominated me for this award, she also happens to be my wonderful boss.
My family came to see me recognized at the awards ceremony.  Mom, Grandpa, Me, and Dad.
Being involved in this program for two years has let me see how wonderful it is.  It is very nice to see deserving individuals recognized for their acomplishments.  I have also learned a lot from this program and I thank all those who made it possible, espcially those who nominated me, for I would never have been able to have this experience without their nominations.  I am also very proud of being able to take part in this program two years in a row, as I was the only senior who had achieved that.
