Purification of the Temple with Lotus Salts

Altar Devotion

Casting the Circle, while marking its boundaries with rose petals:

"By the powers of Land, Sky, and Sea,
By the power that flows within me,
And By the power of three times three,
Sacred Circle, I do conjure thee.
As I will, so mote it be!"

Invitation to the Quarters

Invocation of Flora:
"Great Goddess Flora, She of everything that flourishes, I invite You forth this night to witness the celebration of Bealtinne. Beautiful Flora of the springtime flowers, I invite You forth as I rejoice in the awakening of the land to springtime. Beloved Flora, Goddess of the vine, I invite You forth this night as I celebrate union of male and female, the essence that brings forth the buds and blooms that hold the promise of fertility. Hail and Welcome!"

Invocation to Faunus:
"Faunus, O Ancient One, I invite You forth this night to witness the celebration of Bealtinne. Mighty Faunus, who protects the groves, I invite You forth as I rejoice in the awakening of the land to springtime. Wise Faunus, who guards the fields as the seeds take root and grow under the strengthening Sun, I invite You forth this night as I celebrate the union of male and female, without which Your fields would lie barren. Hail and Welcome!"

Thurible Magick for a successful growing season:
"Kind Flora, Noble Faunus, as the planting season begins here, I ask Your kind blessing on the land, the plants grown upon it, and those it will nourish throughout the coming months. Bring us a balance of Sun and rain, that the harvests will be bountiful. Bless all those who earn their living working the land, that they may have all that they need. Bless those who garden to bring beauty to the land and to encourage native animals to make their homes nearby. As we do these things, may we all work in harmony to restore our beloved planet to health and vitality. So Mote It Be!"

Dancing and drumming as the thurible burns

Cakes and ale

Thanking Flora:
"Beloved Flora, thank you for the beauty that Your creations bring to my life. Thank You for the nourishment we obtain from Your fruits and grains. Thank You for the peace and serenity that come as I work the land. As the planting season begins, help me to be mindful of what my garden needs to grow and thrive. Go if You must; stay if You like, Beautiful Flora. Hail and Farewell."

Thanking Faunus:
"Mighty Faunus, thank You for the beauty of the land under Your protection. Thank You for the nourishment we obtain from Your fruits and grains. Thank You for the peace and serenity that come as I work the land under Your watchful eye. As the planting season begins, help me to be mindful of what my garden needs to grow and thrive. Go if You must; stay if You like, Wise Faunus. Hail and Farewell."

Bidding farewell to the Quarters:

  • NORTH: "Mighty Wolf, Element of Earth, and all benevolent Faery Folk of the Northern Realm, thank you for celebrating with me this night. You are always welcome in my home. Go if you must; stay if you like. Hail and Farewell."

  • WEST: "Mighty Mare, Element of Water, and all benevolent Faery Folk of the Western Realm, thank you for celebrating with me this night. You are always welcome in my home. Go if you must; stay if you like. Hail and Farewell."

  • SOUTH: "Mighty Fox, Element of Fire, and all benevolent Faery Folk of the Southern Realm, thank you for celebrating with me this night. You are always welcome in my home. Go if you must; stay if you like. Hail and Farewell."

  • EAST: "Mighty Falcon, Element of Air, and all benevolent Faery Folk of the Eastern Realm, thank you for celebrating with me this night. You are always welcome in my home. Go if you must; stay if you like. Hail and Farewell."

Dispersing the Circle:

"Earth will crumble my Circle.
Water will cause it to fall.
Fire will burn what's left in the urn.
And the Winds will scatter it all.
This Circle is open, but never broken.
May we merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again."

NOTE: The phrasing for dispersing the Circle came from Timothy Roderick's Dark Moon Mysteries.
