| Born in 1958 in south Khorasan province ( Gonabad ) My childhood I guess was pretty good we were living in a big house with attached garden/vineyard with a stream running throw it. For most of the time that was my play ground making different things out of clay and playing with what ever living creature I could find. My father was away for most of the time working far away from home, For most of the time it was me my mother and younger brother. Until that day afternoon that everything started shaking violently , I was playing in the garden and my parents were taking a nap , Confused about what was happening that I got snatched by my father and running for safety of an open area. Walls were cracking and roof crumpling down for a few second it looked like the whole world is going to turn upside down. That day over 50 thousand people died and many more got injured, We survived and lived in a tent for a while until my father decided to take us with him where he was working, North ( Bandar Gaz ) A much different environment beautiful nature and friendly people, Our house in the middle of a big citrus garden with a water well and a pool very nice place to live but far away from everything in the country side. I had to cross a river with most of the time the bridge was washed away, Muddy streets life was tough but enjoyable not much to worry about except how to cross the river. But this didnt last long one day my father on his way home got ran over with an oil tanker, Shattered legs and broken hips, when I saw him he was unrecognizable motion less on a hospital bed with no health care and uninsured driver. There was little hope for his survival but he bid the odds and after 9 months start walking again, not long after that it was my mothers turn, In a small town and inexperienced doctors after several surgeries she got permanent disabled, now they are both unable to live a normal life with three small children I was the oldest 9 or 10 years old. So we ended up in Tehran to be close to relatives and have access to better medical care. Born in 1958 in I guess this was the toughest time of my life a new city, New school , New class mates people running around all day crowded streets and a compact life 5 people crumpled in a 3 by 4 meter room hardly enough room to sleep for 5 people. Now I am starting high school and getting to feel the pain, Very soon I realized I got to do something so I started to work and continued my school with all the suffering and tough time but I met a few people those years that changed my life for ever. One of them is my wife today and two very good friends, After high school I got accepted in Technical School of Electronics ( Pahlavi University) I finished my two year degree program and joined the Navy with Knowledge of Electronics and good English after a few months I was sent to US for a course in Radar and Sonar systems, these days was the best days of my life after many years of suffering uncertainty and confusion finally I am getting on the right track. But this didn't last long with the 1979 revolution everything changed my course and others got canceled. Once again I ended up job less and homeless. Now what, Start all over again I stayed here for a couple years but I was so depended to that homeland and the girl I left behind, Many days and nights I was searching for a way out of it so finally I made my decision to go back and face the consequences. Back in Iran again, I got married, First couple years was pretty good now my parents have their own home and we (me and my wife) had our own bed room and shard the rest of the house with them. But finding a job was not easy for everything I was either under qualified or over qualified or didnt have other requirements. With the first child now we need our own place to live with my income that wasn't possible, After a few years of working here and there finally I started my own business this was much better than before. 10 years passed by now we have 3 children with the inflation on the rise day by day my income wasn't enough to support the family, kids are growing up still we don't have a home no job security and no bright future, I started to get worried what I am going to do, It was so hard to imagine that they will go throw what I did, I got do something about it. I decided to leave the country but every attempt failed. Finally after 15 years I managed to find a way since then I live here alone all I get is 1 or 2 visit a year. I tried so many times to get them here so we can live together but there is so many obstacles in the way I can't find a solution for them. However I bought a home for them I did send them to good schools my daughter got here bachelors degree in Physics from University of Science and Technology ( Elmo Sanat) and now studying for master degree the other two are still in high school. I succeeded in building a better future for my kids but for a very high price, My life. |
