Gratin Dauphinois
ingredients for 4 people:
500g   thinlu sliced potatoes
salt and freshly ground black pepper
15g    butter, softened
125g   emmenthal cheese
1        garlic clove
300lm double cream
1. preheat the overn to 190c, toss the potatoes in salt and pepper.
2. brush the inside of an ovent-to-table  baking dish w the butter and spread the potatoes out in it.
grate the cheese and set aside.
3.cut the garlic clove in half & place in a sauce pan w the cream.
heat jus to boiling point & immediatery strain over the potatos.sprinkle w the grated cheese and bake for 30 minites.

to serve remove from the oven & leave to stand for 5 minites.
serve straight from the baking dish.
