| McKayla started tumbling/dance lessons this month and seems to really like it. Whether it is the other kids (about six others between two and three years old), the instructors, or just the fun of new activities, she can't wait to go every Tuesday. Hopefully next month she will be doing more on her own, when she is more comfortable, and I can get some pictures to share. Another fun outing to the State Fair this year. Jeff worked the BLM booth again so we got to tag along. We were there the day as the steer show so we got the added bonus of seeing Uncle Brad. McKayla went hard all morning bouncing from the barns to the kid exhibits to Dad, which are on opposite ends of the grounds. I finally broke down at lunch and went to the car for the stroller. She stayed in it happily for about thirty minutes and then I made the mistake of parking it in to watch a class of the steer show - from then on she wanted me to "park it, walk". Luckily it wasn't too long before Jeff's shift was over. Although, he was dragging too after a day bending over to help kids dig for fossils. Hope all is going well for everyone. More next month! |

| Oh What Fun it is to be Two | |||||||||||
| The big feat this month has been a regular nap time, which has been a great for both Mom and McKayla! It took a week but now she picks out five books, crawls in her bed, we read, then within about ten minutes we're both napping. We took a quick trip to Durango for Labor Day and while Dad was fishing McKayla and I got to spend a lot of time with visiting with everyone. As always it was a fun weekend! The weather has cooled significantly so we have been taking longer walks with more "dilly dallys". On our night walks we try to keep her moving by saying no dilly dallying - then I thought twice about using that phase when she told a salesperson at the local shoe shop that Mom was dilly dallying as I picked out new tennis shoes. |
