| Intellections enjoy mental activity and like to think. They like exercising the "muscles" of their brain, stretching them in multiple directions. This need for mental activity may be focused; for example, they may be trying to solve a problem or develop an idea or understand another person's feelings. The exact focus will depend on the individual's other strengths. On the other hand, this mental activity may very well lack focus. The theme of Intellection does not dictate what they are thinking about; it simply describes that they like to think. They are the kind of people who enjoy their time alone because it gives them time to muse and reflect. Intellections are introspective and tend to be their own best companions, as they pose themselves questions and try out answers to see how they sound. This introspection may lead to a slight sense of discontent as they compare what they are actually doing with all the thoughts and ideas that their mind conceives. This introspection may tend toward more pragmatic matters such as the events of the day or a conversation that they plan to have later. Wherever it leads, this mental hum is one of the constants in intellection's life. | |||||||||||||||||

| Teaching is a career that would constantly challenge me intellectually. I would use my "Intellection" strength to share ideas and pose questions with both my colleagues and students. My need to be challenged intellectually would be met with the constant unpredictable nature of my students and their interest. Finding solutions to help students grasp their assignments and learn our lessons would keep me stimulated. | |||||||||||||||||
