News
Late in February, Brett & co revealed the title of the new album; "HEAD MUSIC".

It`ll be released May 3rd 1999, and the first single, "Electricity", in April.
Producer is Steve Osborne, and the album was recorded at Eden Studios in Chiswick, London.

From Melody Maker: "Those who`ve heard the new songs describe them as hard, modern and groove-orientated - think the chic of mid-period Roxy Music with balls. It`s fair to say that Poor Little Rich Girl and b-side Europe is our playground are pretty good pointers to the sound of New Suede - and the Maker has had an exclusive sneak preview of one track. She`s in Fashion - perhaps the quintessential Suede song title - is an elegant, soaring epic with the kind of supremely addictive chours that welds itself instantly to your brain and will, no doubt, soon be causing the same kind hysteria that Trash and Metal Mickey did before it.."

March 1st, at midnight GMT, Suede had a live internet chat. Neil, Richard, Simon and Mat loved the chat, but it seemed like that Brett didn`t care at all. Out of about 50 photos, Brett was only at four of them.

Suede on Norwegian & Swedish TV:

* Monday, March 29, on NRK1 (Norwegian TV)
GMT 14:25 - Suede Interview
This time, it was only Brett who were interviewed. It really surpriced me when Brett said "Drugs are evil. I don't do them anymore. It's for loosers. I admit that I have done drugs, but now it`s all over."
Nice to hear, Brett!
He was skinny as always, but he looked really nice and he seemed happy with the new album.
He said that there is a possibility that Suede are coming to the Norwegian Wood-festival in Oslo.

* Thursday, April 1st, on Swedish TV 4
GMT 21:45 - Suede at "Sen Kvall med Luuk"
It wasn`t much about them, just "Electricity" live. World premiaire in fact.

Electricity was released April 12th

After only one week, Electricity climed to the top in both the UK and Norway. In UK it reached no.5, and in Norway no.1.

Head Music
was released May 3rd
It`s two versions of the album, one with an extra b-side called Leaving (Limited version) , and the original with only a-sides.
It reached no.1 in the UK and in Norway after only a week.

SUEDE AT THE NORWEGIAN WOOD FESTIVAL

Sunday, June 6, at the Norwegian Wood Festival in Oslo, Norway;
I got in to the artist area to meet Suede. I had some unanswered questions, and I wanted the boys to sign my copy of Head Music. Before I met them, they had done a fantastic gig with Brett screaming "Get up from your fucking seats" to the audience. It did. Suede was in fact the ONLY band who made all the audience to stand up cheeering. The playlist was like this: Electricity, Can`t get enough, She`s in fashion, Beautiful Ones, Lazy, Starcrazy, Elephant Man, Trash, Down, Everything will flow, He`s gone, Savoir Faire, Indian Strings, She, She`s in fashion, Saturday Night.

Is Neil leaving Suede?

No. I talked with both Brett and Neil about it and they were joking and making fun about all the rumours about Neil leaving the band. Neil had only the flu, and couldn`t do some of the fanclub gigs.

They said that they`ll tour Europe in autumn.
Simon, Neil, Brett, Mat and Richard seemed happy about their lives, and kept on smiling and laughing while being nice all the time. Brett even signed the picture of me and him from the fanclub gig in Oslo this spring. You can find pictures from the gig at the
Pictures section.

She`s In Fashion

She`s In Fashion will be released one week later than expected, Monday June 21st instead of Monday June 14th.
She`s In Fashion is a really cool summer-song. I`m sure it will sell good.
The b-sides are as following:
CD1: She`s In Fashion - Bored - Pieces Of My Mind
CD2: She`s In Fashion - Jubilee - God`s Gift
MC : She`s In Fashion - Down (Demo)

Suede at the Hultsfredfestival in Sweden, 19/06

Over 15 000 people (the biggest audience at any of the gigs at the festival) were at the Suede gig at the Hultsfred Festival. They were the last band playing on the Hawaii-scene, the headliner-stage at 23:30 GMT. They played only songs from Head Music and Coming Up. The playlist was almost as at the fanclub gigs. Brett had a cold but still, he shaked around on the scene like a music-machine with his gorgeous voice. Suede gave the audience an excellent show as always. Does anyone have pics from the gig I can put at the
gallery-section? I will give u all credit! Please mail me.

'EVERYTHING WILL FLOW' 3rd SINGLE

"Everything Will Flow" will be the 3rd and next single out from "Head Music". The single will be released September 6th in UK and Europe, while "Can`t get enough" will be released as a single in Australia. (Weird uh?)
The b-sides are as following:
CD1: Everything Will Flow - Weight Of The World (Codling) - Leaving (Anderson/Oakes)
CD2: Everything Will Flow - Everything Will Flow (Rollo Vocal Mix) - She`s In Fashion (Original Version)
MC: Everything Will Flow - Beautiful Ones, live at Perivale 1999

Suede Magazine no. 23 is out

It was delayed for a couple of months. The reason of the delay was some problems with the membership cards.

Suede at the Norwegian Hitawards show September 11th

They had a guest appearance at the Hitawards show, a live TV broadcasted show in Norway. Played the lovely "She`s In Fashion" in front of 9000 people in Oslo Spectrum. Lucky for me, I had a backstage-pass so I talked with them a lot. Really nice guys....Brett recognized me from Norwegian Wood, and Simon promised me a backstage-pass for the forthcoming Suede gig in Oslo the 26th of November. As far as I could see, the guys looked quite tired of travelling around the world, they told me that they were constantly working all the time, but at the same time they really loved what they were doing.
After the show, all the artists and celebrites went to a after-party at a hotel called "Oslo Plaza". Brett, Simon, Mat, Neil and Richard stayed for an hour or so, then they left to get some sleep at the hotel. They had to get up really early the next morning, as they were going to Japan.
I really look forward to see them again......

=)
