Whispers
Whispers in the dark
Soft voices speak my name,
Beckoning me to move beyond
The sadness and the pain.

I search through the gloom
Hushed laughter taunts my soul,
Curiosity pushing me forward
Into places unseen, untold.

Frightened as I may be
I pursue the whispers still,
Til I reach the dream place
Of my own free will.

Here I dwell til morning
Vulnerable against whats to come,
Lingering in the hazy realm of sleep
Until the rising of the sun.

I awaken, safe in my bed
The elusive visions fading fast,
Was it all only a dream or
Whispers in the dark?
