Myotismon's Heir
Chapter Six
Disclaimer's Note: I'm going to add some new items in
now, but I got them from "Zelda: Ocarina of
Time". They do not belong to me. The Crests that
Peter's three little siblings get are the three jewels
have you get before you can become an adult. If you
haven't played the game, you wouldn't understand what I'm
talking about, but I'll try my best to explain them
anyway. But Peter's Crest and Tag are my idea.
***Mimi***
I woke up grumbling as Jordan shook me awake.
"Mimi." He whispered, "It's time for you
to take two hours of sitting down and doing nothing but
talking with Kari. You have got to wake up, you can't
afford to miss this!"
I swatted him while laughing at his joke. I hit him
across the side of his head and he fell on his butt.
Good, I hope it hurts.
I sat up and saw Kari watching me.
"You're late. I've been up for the last ten
minutes!" Kari told me as Jordan and A.J. fell
asleep where we'd been lying. Luckys, what I wouldn't
give to sleep again. I was having the nicest dream.
"Mimi, you know what's weird?" Kari asked,
"Ever since Jessica and the others came here, I've
been acting like my old self. I know Tai wouldn't agree,
but I can't help it. We were so serious with the Dark
Masters around, but now, even though Sara's a lot
stronger....."
I smiled and patted the spot beside me. Kari sat down and
I hugged her.
"I know what you mean, Kari. I feel the same way! I
feel just like the old, whiny Mimi I used to be. I think
it's because they remind us so much like the way we used
to be, so we kinda just get dragged along. They remind us
that we can't always be serious. That we have to lighten
up once in a while."Get it?"
Kari nodded, "Yeah, I understand now. I kinda like
it. It's fun!"
I hugged her again. "Exactly, that's how we have to
think of it. Fun, and maybe even helpful. If we mix
pleasure with training, I think we can pull it off.
That's why Gennia sent them to us."
Kari stared at me, "Wow. From just looking at you,
I'd never know you knew so much. Wait 'till I tell
Tai!"
I laughed again and stared at the fire. Were the words
I'd just told Kari true, or were they just words to keep
her from worrying? I wasn't sure myself.
After our two hours of nothing but talking, Kari woke up
T.K. and Jacob for their shift. We offered to stay up
with them, but they thought they could handle it by their
selves.
***Jacob***
I sat down on a log across from T.K.. We woke up Kunamon
and Patamon so they could stand watch with us. But soon
regreted it.
"So, what do you think of the Digiworld,
child?" Kunamon asked me.
I shrugged. "Oh, I don't know. It's pretty cool, but
I just wish Sara hadn't attacked us on the first day!
Everything was going so well, too. My arm still hurts
from the battle, though."
Kunamon nodded his head in agreement. "Yes, Sara is
a worth adversary. We must be cautous of her. I know she
will be strong."
T.K. frowned, "A-adversay? What's that mean?"
"Well, T.K. It means enemy. That's all."
Patamon said, smiling at his partner.
I wished I had someone like Patamon. Instead I got
Kunamon. He was cool, but he talked so old fashioned.
"You see, Jacob, you have a Crest. That will give me
the power to Digivolve step higher then Kuwagamon. I
don't know what I will become, but I know I will have
more power."
So for the next two hours Kunamon and Patamon gave us a
lecture about battling and Crests. Maybe we should've let
'em sleep.
***Matt***
I opened my eyes to see T.K.'s face in front of mine,
Next to me, I heard Jacob waking up his sister.
"Matt, ya gotta wake up! It's time for your
shift!" T.K. said sleepily, "You gotta wake up.
I can't stand another minute of their lecture!"
'They', I found out, were the Digimon. It seems as though
they'd been telling the kids something that they'd rather
not hear about any more. T.K. and Jacob wandered over to
another spot and fell asleep next to their Digimon.
Jessica stood up and yawned, "Is it time for our
watch?" she asked me.
I nodded and stretched out a hand. "Yep. Could you
help me up?"
She blushed and helped me up. "I'm sorry." She
said, "I forgot you were hurt."
I smiled at her concern, "It's not that bad. I'll
just need some help standing up, sitting and laying down
for a while. Don't worry."
Jessica led me to the nearest log and helped me sit down.
Then she moved over to another log and sat down on it.
She hugged herself and shivered in the night air.
"Cold?" I asked, "Why don't you move
closer to the fire? It's warmer."
She smiled but shook her head, "I don't want to move
any of the logs, and I put you on the log closest to the
fire so that you could be warm. Maybe that way the pain
of our wound would get numbed a bit, and it wouldn't hurt
as much. Anyway, the log I'm sitting on now is the second
closest to the fire. It's the best I can get."
I was stunned by her giving nature. And as she raised her
head and turned to look at the fire, I noticed how the
firelight made her eyes sparkle. It gave her a
mysterious-or magical- look. And it made her look so
beautiful.
Ah! What was I thinking? I'm a loner. I don't like any
girl! And not a new girl, that's for sure.
I got over the thoughts, though a warm, strange feeling
kept coming to me every time I looked at her as she
watched the fire.
After a couple minutes of silence, Jessica stood up, went
back to her backpack, opened it, and took out a small
notebook. Probably her diary.
She came back to the log and started to write. Once in a
while she'd stop to think, and then continue. It was
during one of those stops when I decided it was time for
conversasion.
"So, what are you writing?" I asked her.
She looked up, startled. "Oh, it's this log I'm
keeping of our time in the Digiworld. But it's also my
diary, so you can't read it. You see, my friend wants to
know exactly what happens during my cruise journey, that
way she can read it when I get to Hawaii. And since
getting sucked into the Digiworld is part of my cruise, I
have to write it in."
I stared at her, "Are you serious? They'll think
you're crazy!"
She laughed softly and shook her head. "No, that's
the funny part. They won't. I'm known by my friends as
'The Storyteller'. I'm always the one to tell the storys
when we go camping, or any other time they're in the
mood. They'll expect me to write something like this in
my notes along with the real story. That's why she wanted
me to write this in the first place!" Her smile grew
wider. "And this time, I'll get the best of them.
This time it'll be real!"
I smiled as the thought processed through my mind. That
actually would be pretty funny.
Jessica shivered again, and I remembered our earlier
conversation.
Patting the spot next to me on the log, I motontion for
her to sit next to me.
"Come on. If you're cold, sit over here." I
moved over a bit so there'd be room for her.
She stood up and looked at me gratefully. "Thank
you, Matt." She said, walking over and sitting down
beside me.
I laughed, "It's nothing, but for payment, you have
to tell me one of your famous storys."
She closed her eyes, thinking about my offer. Then she
shook her head.
"Not now, but tomorrow. When we're all awake. That
way I'll give T.K., Kari, and Jacob something to think
about while they stand watch. Not to mention it'll
lighten all of our spirits if we fight more evil Digimon
and get hurt, like today..."
Her voice trailed off, but I understood what she meant.
It would be good for the kids to think about something
other then our next battle, or how much they got hurt in
the last one.
One hour and a half later, Joe and Izzy were woken up for
their time to stand watch and I fell asleep.
Day Two
***Jessica***
The next day, everyone was up but A.J. and the Digimon
wouldn't leave much of the breakfast for him is he didn't
wake up soon. We'd tried everything on him, shoving him
didn't work, yelling in his ear didn't work. But I knew
what would........
"Please, Jordan, please let me!" I pleaded with
my older brother.
Jordan shook his head, "Nah, it's a good idea
though, he deserves it." then he smiled. "But
maybe I could..."
"Hey, what are you guys talking about?" Tai
asked, walking over to us.
"Jessica here just thought of the only way to wake
up A.J. But I have to do it since she's a girl and it
wouldn't seen proper for her to do it." Jordan
informed our leader.
Tai put his hand on his hips. "Okay, let's see
it."
Jordan smirked and walked the couple steps over to where
A.J. was lying. He slowly pulled one leg up backwards,
and kicked A.J. softly. Nothing.
Jordan smiled wider and brought his leg up again. This
time he kicked A.J. harder, and the slug stirred
slightly.
Tai looked amused and nodded for Jordan to continue.
Jordan brought his leg up high and kicked A.J. hard in
the side, and this time A.J. flew up.
"Time to eat, bud." Jordan said, helping A.J.
up from the ground.
A.J. smiled, "Alright! What's for breakfast?"
"Today's Special: Fresh fruit and hot fish! Matt and
I caught the fish with our Digimon and Mimi and Jessica
found the fruit with their Digimon."
A.J.'s smile faded, "Again?" he asked.
"I'm gonna get sick of fish real soon. I'll eat the
fruit, though. If it's touched Jessica's hands, I'd eat
anything."
I bristled, and Sora led me gently away from the boys.
"You have to learn to ignore him." She told me
as we sat down next to Mimi and began to eat.
"I can't. I see him everyday in school, and he's had
a crush on me since second grade! It gets really annoying
after a while. Believe me, you'll see what I mean after a
couple weeks."
"He told me it was since first grade." Matt's
voice said, and we turned at see him come over to us.
I moved over to make room for him, he sat next to me and
reached for a small piece of fish in front of him.
"Oh, yeah. It was first grade. I don't remember the
details, just that he's been tormenting me for a really
long time. When did he tell you that?"
Matt smiled sheepishly, "It was just before Sara
attacked us, I was talking to him and commented on how
quickly you adapted to the Digiworld when he
snapped."
I laughed, "Well, I wouldn't worry. He snaps at any
boy besides my brothers who says anything nice about
me."
***Matt***
I refrained from telling Jessica the other half of my
talk with A.J. The part when I said she was pretty, and
the real reason A.J. snapped at me.
Jessica looked over my shoulder at A.J. who was bristling
with rage at that moment. She smiled and waved to her
brother.
A.J. glared at me in disgust and stomped off, sitting
with the boys on the other side of our layout of food.
Mimi started to giggle and pressed a hand over her mouth.
The giggles still came out, thought muffled.
"Jessica, what did I tell you about trying to get
along with A.J.?" Asked Sora, looking at Jessica
with pleading eyes.
Jessica's grin grew wider, "What? Matt's the one who
sat near me! I didn't do anything!"
She turned to me, "Matt, this doesn't mean anything,
right?"
I nodded, though my heart said the total opposite.
Jessica turned back to her food and finished in silence.
Then her, Mimi, and Sora went off with their Digimon to
one of the many logs in camp and sat down to have a 'Girl
Talk'.
A while later, Tai called the entire group over to him.
"What is it, Tai?" Agumon asked, looking up at
his friend.
"Sara now knows where we're camping out. It's time
to move somewhere else. We'd have to move even if Sara
didn't know, anyway. We're almost out of water, we need
to find a stream, or something. So pack up, we're heading
out in a hour!"
We all moved around to different parts of the camp to
find our stuff and then we headed out in search of
another camp site.
***Peter, Infinity Mountain***
As I ran through the many halls of the castle, I reached
under my shirt and pulled out a pale green tag. Inside it
was a Crest with two golden crescent moons, back to back
on a aqua background. In the middle of each crescent
moons was a dark red ruby. The Crest of Transformation.
The source of my ability to turn human.
Running was too slow as a Wisardmon, my legs were too
short. With a flash of light, I turned into a human and
my speed doubled.
I remembered the first time I got it as I bounded up a
large stairway. It was nine digi-years ago. Sara was
there, it was just after Myotismon had left for Earth,
before my best friend turned the way she is now.
And now, my three eight year old kids brother and
sisters: May, Katy, and Nick, were going to get their
own. Two days from now.
Reaching the top of the stairs, I turned down a hall and
rushed up to a door.
"Sara?" I asked, knocking on the door,
"Are you decent?"
The sound of music floated through the door when I
stopped. The music was quick and playful, It reminded me
of Sara herself. So, Sara was playing her Ocarina: Sara's
Song (Saria's Song), if I wasn't mistaken.
Sara's Song.... Wasn't it my mother who taught her to
play the Ocarina, and that was the first song Sara ever
played. She made it up herself, and so gave it the name
Sara's Song.
The song ended and I knocked again, "Sara! I need to
tell you something!!"
"Come in, Peter." Sara said, and I opened the
door cautiously.
Sara was sitting on her bed, the Ocarina in her hand. She
stood as I entered. Today she wore a dark green dress and
forest green high-heels.
"Yes, Peter? What's the reason you're pounding on my
door at so early in the morning?" She smiled
mischievously, "It'd better be good, or I'll feed
you to the Bakemon."
I laughed. "Well, Sara, it is good. In a couple days
May, Katy, and Nick are going to get their Tags of
Transformation. They want you there to see it, you know
how much they love you. And, you did promise the last
time you came over you'd go."
Sara looked out the window, "How many days?"
she asked.
"Two. And my mother would like to see you again
also."
Sara turned back to look at me, "Two days...Well, I
guess the Digidestined are going to have a little time
for vacation. I'll come, Peter. For the little ones
sake."
I nodded, and turned to leave."I'll tell Mother
you'll be coming for the ceremony. Will you be staying at
our house for a couple days, or will you leave directly
after?"
Sara shook her head, "Of course not! I'll stay for a
couple days, but now I really must get back to
work."
I nodded and left.
Sara laughed, "Now," I heard her say to
herself, "Which Digimon should they fight
today?....."
***Jacob***
I skipped down the trail with Kari and T.K. and our
Digimon. We talked about all most anything, but mostly we
played match-maker with the older kids, trying to figure
who went best with who. Kunamon scolded us for acting so
childish when there was an evil force like Sara on the
loose.
I laughed when T.K. said Mimi'd go best with Jordan, and
suddenly a thought struck me.
"Hey, guys." I said, "Hold on a sec, I
want to ask my sister something."
"Sure, but hurry back." Kari called after me.
I ran over to Jessica and pulled her away from Mimi and
Sora. "Jess, could you tell us a story
tonight?" I asked, "Tell a new one, and put us
in it. Okay?"
She smiled down me, "I was already planning on it,
but I won't tell you what it's about 'till we're all
seated around a campfire."
I jumped up and down in delight, "Yes! Oohh, I can't
wait 'till tonight!" I laughed.
Jessica laughed with me and shooed me back to Kari and
T.K.
I ran back to them and told them the news, in a way.
"So, what'd you want to talk to Jessica about?"
T.K. asked me.
"I can't tell you," I said, "Wait 'till
tonight. Then you'll find out."
Kari grabbed my arm and tugged on it, "Please tell
us, Jacob. We won't tell anybody, honest!"
I shook my head, "No, I won't tell you. Just wait
until tonight, I know you'll like it."
Kari sighed and let go of my arm, "Fine, but if she
doesn't do it tonight, you'll have to tell us what it
is."
"Fine, but I won't have to. Jessica never breaks her
promises."
Allright people, the end of chapter six. If you guys can
think of any names for all these chapters, I'd appreciate
it, a lot. ^-~
