Myotismon's Heir

Chapter Four

Note: Okay, from now on I'm not going to say where the people are since they're all in Digiworld. The only time I will do that is when I switch to Sara or Peter.

Day One

***Jessica***

I sighed, everything was so weird all of a sudden. Plus I had really annoying itch around my neck. Reaching under my shirt collar, I felt a chain where the itch was. Funny, I wasn't wearing a necklace. I pulled the chain out of my shirt and looked at it. It had a pendant like thing at the end of it. I frowned.

Sitting next to me, Mimi looked at the pendant in my palm and gasped.

"What is it?" I asked, worried about what it might mean.

In response, Mimi grabbed my hand and pulled me over to where Tai, Matt, Izzy, and Jordan were sitting.

"Tai!" She explained, "Look at what Jessica has!"

Tai and the boys looked up, "What is it, Mimi?" Tai asked.

Mimi showed them the chain and pendant in my hand. "Jessica has a Tag! Plus, she also has a Digivice. Now we know she's a Digidestined!"

Izzy nodded, "We figured as much since three have Digimon and Digivices. But we didn't know they had Tags."

Jordan stood, "I have one of those too. But I didn't know what it was, so I just kept my mouth shut."

Tai called the others over and asked A.J. and Jacob if they had any Tags. I showed them mine.

"I've got one of those." Jake said, pulling his out of his pocket.

"Yeah, I've got one too." A.J. pulled his out.

"Then it's offical." Izzy stated, "You four are now Digidestined." he said, holding out his hand. Jordan shook it hesitantly. Kunamon, Gazimon, and Gotsomon beamed.

"Good going, children." A voice said from behind us. We all turned to see who it was.

"Gennia!" Tai exclaimed at the sight of the glowing old man. "What are you doing here?"

"Well, Tai. I'm here to tell you why these new children are here." Gennia said, "And I'm also here to tell you why you're still here. Which one would you like me to explain first?"

"Why we're still here." Tai said, "I've got a funny feeling that it's connected to why the new kids are here, too."

The hologram of Gennia nodded, "You'd be right, too. The reason you're still here is because there is another evil force to destroy. A pupil of the Dark Masters."

Tai snorted. "A pupil? Sheesh, we've beaten the Dark Masters. We can take a pupil!"

Gennia shook his head slowly, "Well, Tai. The trouble is, you can't do it alone. That's why I've brought these children here." he gestured at us, "They will destory the evil. Not you or the others." After saying that he turned to me and the boys. "Children," He said, "You must learn the ways of Digiworld quickly. It won't be long before you're tested, and I hope you pass.

He turned back to Tai, "Tai, it's you're responsablity to make sure that these children are not harmed. As long as one is still able to battle, then there's hope, but if all are not, the Digiworld is doomed." Now he turned to Izzy, "Izzy, I've sent you prophecy concering this evil."

Izzy nodded, "Yes, sir. I'll check it out the moment this conversation is over."

Gennia smiled, "It is almost over. I have only a couple more things to say. I see you've found your Tags, children. Good, now you have to find the Crests that go with them. I have one right here, it belongs to Jacob."

Jacob walked forward, "I'm ready, Gennia, sir." he said.

In front of Gennia apeared a Crest. The background was a deep red and the symblo was a dark green Star of David with a circle within a circle inside of it. The Crest started to glow and floated over to Jacob's Tag, which pulled up to meet it. Then it moved sideways a little and slipped inside it. The glowing stopped the Tag fell back down on Jacob's shirt.

Jacob picked up the Tag and looked fondly at the Crest inside. "Thank you, Gennia." He said, bowing respectfully.

Gennia laughed, "No problem, and the Crest means Faith, guard it well." he turned to look at me, "Jessica, I see you don't have your Digimon yet. Don't worry, she's probably just a little late. I'm sure she'll be here any second." After saying that, he dispeared.

Joe smiled, "That's the longest he's talked to us yet!"

"Is Jessica here?" asked a weak voice, and we all turned to see a small blue bird Digimon standing at the foot of the woods. It looked like it was about to collapse.

"I'm Jessica." I said, rushing over to help the small bird, "Who are you?"

the bird smiled weakly as I scooped it up in my arms. "Oh, I'm so happy I've finally found you!" It said, "I'm Penguinmon, and I'm your Digimon."

I gasped, "Oh, you're my Digimon?! That's so cool!" But when I looked at her condition, I decided I could wait to chat. "You must have traveled a long way. I'll let you rest before you tell me anymore." smiling, I brought the Digimon back to the others and laid her down on the ground.

After I'd made sure Penguinmon was comfortable, I stood and looked at Tai, "Alright, I think we're ready to know exactly what's going on now." I said. "Since I think we're going to be here for a while.''

Tai nodded, "Yeah, I think so too." he gestured to the logs around the fireplace. "Sit down, this'll take a while to explain."

We all sat around the fireplace on logs, and Tai started. "Well, first of all," He said to his friends, "I think we should all take turns explaining this to them. It'd take way to long for just me and you guys have done stuff I haven't." then he turned to us. "It all started when me and my friends were at summer camp, about two weeks ago...."

Tai went on to explain the reason they were all here, taking turns with his friends every once and a while. While they talked, the sun set and Joe lit a fire. And by the time they were finished, we were fully informed as to what we were up against.

Izzy opened his computer, "Allright, it's time to check out the prophecy Gennia gave us." he said, and started clicking away at the keyboard.

***Tai***

I looked as Izzy's face lit up.

"Here it is!" He exclaimed, and the clickling stopped as we all gathered around him.

"Read it!" I said. "I want to see how easy it'll be to beat this thing!"

Matt smirked, "Yeah. We can take it out, no problem!"

Izzy nodded again and continued. " 'Two will brag, but both will fail at winning, this new evil will send them spinning. The evil's young but still beware! She just happens to be your worst enemy's heir.-' "

Joe held up a hand. "Did that just say she? It's a girl?"

Izzy looked up, "I'd probably guess that if it says it's a she. But that's really not important, so can I continue reading this?"

Joe didn't answer, so Izzy continued. " 'You're pretty strong, but not strong enough yet, four back-ups come right before sun-set. The newest of four, is not doing well, but when it comes to it's worst, two heal the one. One opens a gate with another name for fate, and your enemys are doubled. One by one, two of the four fall, but are got gone for good if the methods that are needed are done. When the newest of members attacks with strength renewed, an unsuspected Digivolve destroys all evil in sight, leaving only good. Please always, recycle.' "

I groaned, "Not this again!"

Mimi bit her bottom lip, "Well, it's not as hard as the first one was. That one went way over my head. But I think I got this one. I don't understand it, but I've got it."

Jessica walked over to where Penguinmon was lying. The other Digimon was around her, trying to make her comfortable. But they parted as Jessica got closer.

"Are you okay?" She asked, kneeling beside the blue bird. As she placed a hand on the Digimon's head, a light erupted from her Digivice and consummed them. When the light disapeared, Jessica was looking extremely shocked and Penguinmon stood up shakely.

"Yes, I am. Thanks to the Digivice." She said, smiling at Jessica's amazement. "The Digivice holds a healing power, so when the Digivice exploded, I was healed."

Jessica gasped, "So that would explain why I feel so good."

Penguinmon nodded, "Yeah, but a Digivice can't cure a hungry stomach! When's dinner?"

I laughed and turned to the others. "All right people, you heard the Digimon. Let's get some food on the table!"

Kari looked at me, "But Tai, we don't have a table. Shouldn't you say 'Get some food on the ground'?"

"She's got a point there, Tai." Sora said, and I frowned.

"Oh, come on! You know what I meant!"

***Sora***

After dinner, which consisted of fruit and vegetables, I sat down with Jessica and got to know her better. Mimi joined us soon after I got there.

"So, how do you like the Digiworld so far?" Mimi asked, and Jessica laughed.

"I don't really know yet." She said, "I just got here today, but from what I've seen, it's a nice place."

I smiled, "It is, isn't it? But you and your friends are lucky, the first day we got here, we got attacked by Kuwagamon. But that was a long time ago."

Mimi nodded, "Yeah, it was. But I remember it clear as day." she shuddered. "It was horrible."

We sat quietly for a moment, no one spoke. Each alone with their thoughts. Then Jessica spoke up.

"I really appreciate how you guys are trying to make us feel comfortable here in the Digiworld. Thank you."

I shook my head, "It's nothing. You heard what Gennia said, we have to make you comfortable and protect you until you get used to the Digiworld. And we're just doing our job, not to mention it's good to have another girl around."

***Gennia***

"So, how long 'till I can attack and avenge my father's death?" Asked Sara, tapping her foot impatiently.

I smiled, "Anytime after today. How about tonight?" I asked, "That should be enough time for the children to get to know each other and get used to Digiworld."

Sara nodded her head. "Good enough, old man. I'll wait untill tonight. But not a second more!"

With that, Sara dissapeared with a puff of smoke.

I sighed, the Digidestined were up against a force stronger then any other they'd met. One with the strength of all the Dark Masters combined, plus her fathers playfulness. The kind of playfulness that would leave the Digidestined weaker and weaker with each passing battle....

***Izzy***

I looked around the group. Tai and Matt were talking to Jordan and A.J., T.K., Kari and Jacob were in a game of tag, and Sora and Mimi seemed to have made Jessica feel quite at home here in Digiworld. I sighed.

Joe looked at me, "What's the matter, Izzy? Feeling left out?"

I shook my head, "No, it's just the matter of the four new children and Jacob's Crest." I waved to the young boy, "Hey, Jacob! Over here!"

Jacob stopped and turned towards me. "Yeah, Izzy?" He asked, "What do you want?"

I waved him over, "Come here, I want to ask you something."

Jacob trotted over and T.K. and Kari wandered over to the girls.

"Yeah, what do you want?" Jacob said again when he got to where me and Joe were sitting.

"Can I see your Crest?" I asked, and Jacob obediently reached under his shirt and pulled the Tag and chain off his neck.

"Here you go." He said, handing me the Tag. "What do you want with it?"

I stared at the Crest, Joe looked over my shoulder. "So, this is Faith." I said quietly, after a moment.

"That's weird, Our Crests only have one color, but yours has two." Joe comented, pulling out his own Crest and looking at it.

I nodded, "That's the reason I wanted to see it." I sat down and opened my laptop to my newest section; the Crest section.

After a few minutes of typing, I'd added Jacob's Crest symbol and name to my list. Now I only needed to find out what it did and wait for the others to find theirs.

I shut off my laptop and handed the Crest of Faith back to Jacob. "Thank you, Jacob. That's all I need."

Jacob slipped the chain over his neck and tucked it back under his shirt collar.

***Jessica***

We sat in silence and watched Izzy talk to Jacob. They were too far away to hear what they were saying, but T.K. and came over to talk to us.

"Miss Jessica?" asked T.K. "Could you tell us how you came to Digiworld?"

I laughed quietly, "Sure. But I'm not 'Miss' Jessica. Just call me Jessica."

Kari elbowed T.K. as they sat down. "I told you not to call her 'Miss'." She whispered.

I took a deep breath and thought of all that had happened that day. It was hard, so much had happened.

"Well, it all began when me and my brothers got on a cruise ship that was headed for Hawaii two weeks ago. Earth weeks, that is."

Kari gasped, "Two weeks ago?" she asked, "That was when we were fighting Myotismon! Did you see any Digimon around that time?"

I shook my head. "No, I don't think so."

I was about to continue when Mimi raised her hand, "A cruise ship?!" she asked, "Hawaii?! You were on a cruise ship headed for Hawaii!?"

"Yeah. Why?"

Mimi sighed, "There's nothing more I want then to go to Hawaii and the States. Nothing except destroy every evil Digimon in the world, that is."

I nodded in understanding, then continued my story.

"Well, for two weeks nothing happened, we swam, played pool on the game deck, and stuff like that. Just the usual stuff. Then today, after I'd gone swimmig, we me up with A.J."

Sora looked at Tai, "I can't remember which one is A.J." she pointed to Tai's left, "It is that one over there? Next to Tai?"

Mimi giggled, "Oh, you mean the cute one?"

I stared at the both of them, "No!" I said. "That's my brother Jordan. A.J.'s over there talking to Matt!"

"Oh." They both said together, and Mimi blushed a deep red as Jordan and Tai looked our way and waved.

T.K. and Kari giggled quietly at the girls' pradicament.

"Well, anyway. We met A.J. on the ship and I left to go get changed. That's when I met Matt in one of those bubbles. But it was dark here the first time."

"Oh, so that's what Matt was thinking of today." Mimi said, "He must of seen you last night!"

"I looked at her, "Okay, I see I have a lot more to learn about the Digiworld."

T.K. looked at Mimi angrly, "Okay, Mimi. No more interruptions. I want to here the rest of the story!"

Kari nodded, "Yeah, me too!"

I smiled, "Me and Matt talked a while, and I think he was going to tell me about the Digiworld when the bubble popped. I was pretty annoyed at the time, but then I got a feeling I'd be needing some stuff so I packed my backpack and was about to go back outside when I opened the door and ran into Jordan. Then the bubbles appeared and we got sucked in here."

"How?" Asked Kari eagerly.

I looked up at the huge sky, thinking. "Um, after the bubble disapeared for the second time, we looked up at the ceiling and there was this huge, swirling circle of light, it started growing. Out of the little porthole, O could see a purple, pink, yellow and green wave getting bigger. Then four streaks of light came out of it and
hit the floor next to us." I took my Digivice off my backpack, "These came out of the holes. So we grabbed them. Then the wave crashed into my cabin and we all blacked out. That's how we got here."

T.K., Sora, and Mimi looked at each other,

"That's exactly how we got here!" Sora said to me. "We weren't on a cruise ship, we were at summer camp, but the beams of light and the wave are exactly what happened to us!"

I let out a low whistle, "Wow, that's weird."

Kari smiled, "I wasn't there to see it, but I can tell you, the Digiworld gets even weirder then this!"

***Peter, Infinity Mountain***

I leaned against Sara's bedpost as she rummaged through her wardrobe. With a puff of smoke, I turned into my human self. I felt so much better this way.

"And what-exactly-are you looking for?" I asked, tossing the Ebon Trist from hand to hand and rubbing it's dark jewel with my hand.

"This!" Sara turned to me and showed me a hooded black cloak. She wrapped it around her shoulders and tied the strings tightly.

"Come on, Peter." She said as she put the hood over her head, it shadowed her entire face. "You wanted to come with me when I battled the Digidestined, so now's your chance!"

I gave her the Ebon Trist and grabbed my own cloak, a dark green one.

"The time has come for revenge!" Sara said to me, an evil grinn on her beautiful face.

With a puff of smoke, she dissapeared. I followed, but not before a thought of regret of what my friend had turned into.

***Matt***

Me and A.J. were just sitting there, not really talking about anything. We watched the girls talk and giggle, and then watched Jacob, T.K. and Kari run around like the kids they were. Jordan was in a serious discussion with Tai, and Joe and Izzy were talking to each other. Our gaze turned back to Jessica and the girls.

"Jessica's quite a girl." I comented, "I've only known her for a couple hours, but it's like I've known her forever and she gets along great with Sora and Mimi too. It's amazing!" I grinned, "Not to mention she's pretty."

I saw A.J.'s eyes light up with anger, "Listen Matt," he said, pointing his finger at me, "You stay away from my girl, you understand me?! Don't you dare go near her."

I looked at A.J., he hadn't apeared to me as the possessive type.

"How do you know she's your girl?" I asked, "She doesn't seem to like you that much."

A.J. glared at me, "Listen, Matt. I've known Jessica since first grade, and no hotshot kid like you is going to take her away from me. Sooner or later she'll fall for my charm."

I laughed inwardly, 'Sure' I thought. 'Who'd fall for a guy like him?'

***Tai***

"Okay, just keep your pose like that. Yeah, that's right. Keep it natural!"

I watched as Jordan knelt beside the Digimon, taking pictures of them walking around and talking to one another. He'd been doing it for the past five minutes, but the Digimon just noticed him. Now they insisted him taking pictures of them posing.

Finally he stood, "Okay, that's enough for today." He glanced over at girl Digimon, "Well, maybe I might take a few pictures of the ladies, but that'll be it. Hold on a second, Tai!"

He came back a couple minutes later, and announced the picture taking done for the day.

"Why are you taking pictures?" I asked, wondering why I hadn't thought of that before.

"My friend Josh wanted me to take some pictures of I saw any rare animals, and I can't think of any animals more rare then these Digimon." He waved an arm around at them all and slipped the camera into his pocket. "They're so cool!"

"They are, aren't they?" A female voice said, and we all turned to see a figure standing at the foot of our camp. It was a girl, that was for sure, but we couldn't make out her face because of the hood she was wearing.

"Who are you?" I asked, Agumon running to my side. The other Digimon ran to their partners too, for defence if the girl was an enemy.

The girl smiled, her mouth being the only part of her face we could see. "That's for you to find out for your- selves, Digidestined. I give you only one clue: You killed my father and destroyed my home. You also took my best friend away from me, and I doubt I'll ever be with her again, other then in battle against each other."

I instantly crossed out Etamon. There was no way this girl was his daughter. That left Devimon, Myotismon, and all the Dark Masters. Crossed off Machinedramon and MetalSeadramon. So that left only Piedmon and Puppetmon. Four people. Now who could be her best friend, LadyDevimon maybe?

My thoughts were interrupted by a puff of smoke, and another person appeared. This one was wearing a cloak and hood too, but his hood was down, so we could see his face. It was a boy around our age, he had dirty blond hair and light blue eyes. He wore a light green and yellow tee shirt with blue jeans. The cloak was a navy blue.

"I'm not battling today." He said as the girl turned to look at him. She nodded.

"Very well. I do not need your help, anyway. " The girl turned back to us.

"Now, Digidestined. It is time to battle, do you want me to begin, or would you rather yourselves?"

"Agumon: WaRp DiGiVoLvE to....WarGreymon!" I stared up at my Mega.

"Gabumon: WaRp DiGiVoLvE to....MetalGarurumon!" Matt's Digivice shook violently in his fist as it glowed a pale blue.

"Biyomon: Digivolve to....Birdramon! Birdramon: Digivolve to....Garudamon!" The huge bird towered over Sora.

"Tentomon: Digivolve to....Kabuterimon! Kabuterimon: Digivolve to....MegaKabuterimon!"

"All right! Go MegaKabuterimon!" Izzy shouted.

"Palmon: Digivolve to....Togemon! Togemon: Digivolve to....Lilymon!" Mimi watched in awe as the fairy Digimon flew into battle.

"Gomamon: Digivolve to....Ikkakumon! Ikkakumon: Digivolve to: Zudomon!"

At the same time, T.K. and Kari held out their Digivices and Patamon and Gatomon Digivolved to their Ultimate stages.

***Jessica***

"Wow." I whispered, "That's awesome!"

Penguinmon managed a grim smile, "I'll be able to do that too, just as soon as you find your Crest!" And without Digivolving, she ran into battle with the others.

"Come on, we must defend the children!" Kunamon shouted, and he jumped into the air, "Kunamon: Digivolve to....Kuwagamon!" I heard Jacob gasp in surprise as the giant red beetle flew off with the others.

"Kunamon's right! Gotsomon: Digivolve to.... Monochomon!"

Jordan hastily snapped pictures of the new monsters, I shook my head.

"Gazimon: Digivolve to....Tuskmon!"

I let out a low whistle as the Digimon crowded around the girl, her companion flew off a save distance to watch.

"Tera Force!" WarGreymon yelled,

"Ice Wolf Claw!" shouted MetalGarurumon.

The girl smiled as the attacks grew closer. She waited until they were less then a foot from her, then she held out her hand and the attacks disintegrated only inches from her face.

We all gasped, and her smile grew wider.

"Now then, Digidestined. Is that all you've got?" The girl laughed evilly.

End of chapter four

Now, what'd I tell you about cliff hangers? I guess you'll just have to wait until chapter five to find out what happens to the Digidestined! (Don't worry, I'll write it soon.)
