Myotismon's Heir

Chapter Fourteen

Okay, in this chapter, it will totally be Sara and Peter. There will no Digidestined what so ever.

***Peter***

Sara was chatting with an old friend of her's when the music started. I grabbed her arm and started to pull her forward, then stopped cold. Startled, I turned back and looked at the girl Sara'd been talking to. She nodded at me, her red eyes glistening from behind her purple sun glasses and her upper lip curling in a sneer. Her hair was long and an off-white, though she wasn't much older then us. She wore a red dress with purple stripes on the skirt, a small red cape that didn't go any further then her shoulders, red gloves with golden designs and a red jewel in each one. She had red boots, and a hat that quite resembled the hats of us Wisardmon. Except, where the little skull should be, a figure of a spider was instead. There was no mistaking who it was. Arukenimon! I remembered her! She was with me when I'd gotten my Crest and Tag! Ooh, how she hated me after that day! And she'd shown her disrespect and anger by not even wearing white to this sacred place!

Shaking my head in disgust, I nodded a curt greeting to her, and then pulled Sara off until we were up front and near the platform were the Centarumon was standing. He saw us, nodded, and then turned his gaze back to the doorway. The double doors flung open, and the May, Katy, and Nick walked through them, mom right behind them.

The doors shut again, and the music halted. May, being the oldest, stood on the right, while Nick, who was second, was in the middle. Little Katy, youngest of the three, was on the right. They started walking towards the platform, Mom didn't go up, but stayed near the door.

The walked past us, and Katy risked a split-second side glance at us before walking up the steps with the others. Her face was totally nervous, but both Sara and I gave her a reassuring wave and I winked at her, hoping it'd boost her spirits.

Despite their mismatched clothes, the three of them looked like royalty. At they walked up the platform, I felt so nervous, proud, and excited all at once.

Then suddenly, I felt a squeeze on my hand. I looked and saw Sara clinging to my hand! She held a hand- kerchief in her other hand. I smiled at her, and then turned back to the ceremony.

The Centarumon moved forward slowly, the 'Clip-clop' his hoofs making the only noise in the entire cathedral.

Energy ran high, and the place fairly crackled with it. Had it only been six years when this had happened to me? I fingered my Tag with my free hand, and prayed to all the powers of the Digiworld that they'd have the strength to do the first transformation.

I also prayed that Sara wouldn't kill me when she found out who we really were, and why I'd wanted to go with her into battle.

***Sara***

Centarumon finally spoke. "Children of the Digiworld!" He boomed out, his one eye focused on the three children before him. Katy shook. "You have been destined for this place in life since before you were born. Chosen by the Creators of the Digiworld to wear the Tag and Crests of Transformation."

He walked over to May, and held her Tag and Crest high, moving it back and forth, so everyone got a good look at it. The Tag was the same pale green color as Peter's, but the Crest was totally different. It had a dark blue background, the same color as May's cape and Katy's clothes. The symbol was a sparkling green stone held in a beautiful golden clasp that looked sort of like the legendary Crest of Kindness......Ugh! Why'd I even think of that?

***May***

"Child," Centarumon said to me. The Tag still hung in the air above me, but I didn't take my eyes off Centarumon. "Your heart is hard, not wanting to forgive those who've hurt ye. Learn to Forgive, for it will heal you. Your soul is restless, wanting to travel far and away from other Digimon." He got that right! "Have Peace, for that time will come soon enough, and then ye will wish it hadn't. And always, believe in those things that seem impossible." He let go of the Tag to place his hands on my shoulders, and the Crest above me burst into bright green light. Ah felt a sense of power as it flooded over me. "Child, your Crest is that of Trust. Protect the Child of the Dove, who's life will be in more danger then any other. And protect the Child of Miracles, who's own pride shall be a stumbling block unto his feet. I bless ye."

Ah felt my face go red with pride and pleasure, while Ah saw Nick's turn green with envy. 'Ah' was the protector of the Dove! What an honor! Katy just bit her bottom lip and tried to steady herself. Ah saw Sara twisting a handkerchief, and Ah hoped my sister could hold on.

***Nick***

Centarumon moved over to me, and I quickly turned my face back to normal. Who cares if May had the child of the Dove? I'd probably get someone even more important!

Centarumon did the same thing with my Tag and Crest as he had May's, holding it above his head and showing it to the crowd. The Crest had a green background, the color of May's jewel. Their were two jewels in the Crest, both a fiery red color, the color of my clothes. And they were held by a bronze colored clasp.

"Child," Said Centarumon. "Your heart is proud: ye must learn to Humble it if ye want to fulfill your destiny. Your soul wishes to be like one ye are not: Ye must learn Acceptance if ye wish to release your true power. And learn also that of Grace, so ye shall not be prideful." He let go of the Tag and placed his hands on me shoulders, and like with May's, the Crest burst into bright light. But mine was red light, instead of green. "Child, your Crest is that of Honesty. Protect the Child of Lightening, who's trails are almost here. And protect the Child of Purity, who's time is let to come. I bless ye."

I felt myself flushed with pride and I tilted my head higher. The Child of Lightening and the of Purity! Almost as good as the Dove and Miracles, anyway.

***Katy***

Finally, Centarumon turned to me. I was so afraid! I could feel myself quaking, but I somehow managed to keep Centarumon's gaze.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Sara squeeze Peter's hand tight and then bite a corner of her hand- kerchief, I prayed that I'd have enough courage to do what he wanted.

As he did with May and Nick, Centarumon held up me Tag and Crest and showed it to the crowd. It was so pretty! The background was the same red as Nick's jewel, giving the symbol a sacred look. Instead of one or two jewels, like May and Nick, I had three, all of an ocean blue. They were had in a silver clasp that looked sort of like a flower, I liked it.

"Child," Centarumon said to me, his voice making me quake again. "Ye are humble and shy, but ye shall be more of a help in time of need then any other." I smiled. "Learn to have Faith in yourself, and ye shall be stronger. Have Unity with others, and ye shall be safe. Learn your place in fate, and you shall always be remembered." He placed his huge hands on my shoulders, and I felt like I was going to pass out! I dropped me gaze and stared at the embroidery on the carpet. I felt the blue light of the Crest shine down on me and waited to hear who I was to protect. "Child, your Crest is that of Guidance. Protect the Child of the Star, who's time is near enough. And Protect the Child of Destiny, who has no idea what lays in store. I bless ye."

The Child of the Star! Why, the Child of the Star 'tis higher then even the Dove! And The Child of Destiny, as well! Again, I felt like I was going to faint.

Centarumon gently turned me, May, and Nick around, and our Tags and Crests turned with us. As we faced the crowd, the Tags burst into light and dropped suddenly, as if they'd been hanging by a rope and someone had just cut it. They fell swiftly, and landed around our neck's. The light subsided, and We all beamed.

***May***

Centarumon nodded at me. Ah felt so nervous! But Ah clutched my Tag in one hand like Ah'd seen Peter do so many times. A white light exploded from my Crest! When the light subsided, Ah felt differ ant.....taller! Ah looked at my self, and there stood an attractive girl the size of a human eight year old. My long, black hair hung in a loose ponytail, tied by a green scrunchy. Ah wore a green T-shirt, and dark blue jeans. Light green gloves were on my wrists, strapped on by Velcro. Why! Ah even resembled the Child of the Dove abit!

Centarumon raised his arms high above me. "Behold!" He cried. "A protector has been born! Trust! I give ye the protector of The Dove and of Miracles!"

***Nick***

Centarumon came over to me next. I could feel meself quivering in me boots! He nodded at me, and, like May, I clutched me Tag tightly. A bright light shot out and all around me! 'Tis so bright, it nearly blinded me eyes! When the light went away, I felt....different. Energy surged through me, letting me stay in this human form.

I looked at meself, and there was a handsome (if I do say so, meself) human boy. Me brown hair was cut short, and I wore a red shirt with brown short pants. It was quite an odd feeling....But I didn't look a'tall like Peter. Why, I looked almost like The Child of Lighting! That was good enough for me!

Centarumon raised his arms high above me. "Behold!" He cried. "A protector has been born! Honesty! I give ye the protector of Lightening and Purity!"

***Katy***

I was quaking horribly by the time Centarumon turned to me. With a shaking trembling hand, I clutched the Tag when he told me. A flash of white light surrounded me, and it was all I could do not to scream or faint right there on the spot.

When the light went away, (much to me relief) I felt so different! I Looked around at meself, (even though I was afraid I'd faint when I saw the changes.)

What I saw nearly made me faint again. I was much taller, and me long yellow hair was plaited. I had a shirt with no sleeves whatsoever on, and it was the blue of my crest's jewels, and I was also wearing a navy blue skirt that came a little above my knees. Brown sandals were on me feet, and I stared at the peachy color of my skin. I didn't look a thing like the 'Child of the Star' or the 'Child of Destiny', but I didn't quite care, as they both beith boys!

Centarumon raised his arms high above me. "Behold!" He cried. "A protector has been born! Guidance! I give ye the protector of The Star and of Destiny!"

***Sara***

"Trust....Honesty....Guidance....These are the Crests of protection! The Crests provide cover, for when the child is near, the Protectors shall transform and their true form shall be hidden. Behold! Three protectors of the Digidestined have been born!!"

I started choking. Stopped quickly. Turned to glare at Peter, who looked ready to run for his life and teleport out of this place first chance. And he should be. PROTECTORS OF THE DIGIDESTINED!?!?!?!

"Peter!?........" I asked, using all my control to keep my voice a whisper. But it was a whisper full of venom and hate, and maybe a wish to kill someone standing very close to me.......

Peter paled considerably. "Sara..." He whispered back. "I'll explain later. Now, just please finish watching the ceremony. PLEASE?"

I continued glaring at him for a moment or so, and then turned back to the ceremony. I didn't hear anything else that was being said, though. My mind reeled with angry thoughts that threatened to burst out in a wave of anger. Only my love for Peter's mother and the little ones kept me from storming out of the place there and then.

I took deep breaths, trying to calm myself. It didn't work. At all. 'Protectors of the DIGIDESTINED!?!?!' My mind screamed. 'No wonder he refused to help me fight!' As a protector, he and his siblings had sworn never to hurt so much as a hair on their children's heads. I remembered the day Peter got his Tag and Crest....

~Flashback~

A five-year-old Wisardmon boy walks slowly down an aisle, looking extremely nervous. It's Peter, before he had ever transformed. He's in blood red clothing, and has gold-colored lining in his cape, which is a aqua color. Behind him, standing near the doors, are his mother and Sara, a new member of the Wisardmon household. Both are dressed in pure white gowns and Sara's young, innocent face is fairly glowing with pride, and a tint of envy: for she'll never be able to walk down the aisle as he does. Sara's holding a small baby in her arms, and two more are in the arms of Mrs. Wisardmon.

Beside Peter is a girl older by only a few years, but she doesn't look like a girl at all. Instead, she looks like a spider, with two large red horns sticking out from her long white hair, and eyes that were huge, with a line on each side. Her upper body is slim, and of a red color. She has two arms, which are long and awkward, and have white stripes near the wrists. Her abdomen is like a large, bloated ball, and is red with white stripes and yellow bottons going down the middle. She has eight legs, each tipped with a black claw, and wrapped in what appears to be white bandages. Her name is Arukenimon

Peter and his companion walk up onto the platform, and The Centarumon standing there walks closer to the pair. "Children of the Digiworld!" He booms out, his one eye focusing on the two children before him. Peter shakes. "You have been destined for this place in life since before you were born. Chosen by the Creators of the Digiworld to wear the Tag and Crest of Transformation."

He walks over to Peter and holds his Tag and Crest high, moving it back and forth, so everyone gets a good look at it. The Tag is a pale green color, and the Crest is made up of three colors. It has a aqua colored background, the same color as as his cape. The symbol of the Crest is two golden crescent moons, back to back. In the middle of each crescent moons is a bright red jewel. The Crest of Goodness.

"Child," Centarumon says to Peter. "Ye shall be the first of your kind, but certanly not the last. Ye shall represent all that is good and whole in the Digiworld, and constantly battle evil." He stopps and smiles down at the young boy. "Ye are timid and weak, but within ye bides a power and perseverance that will set ye in awe of others. Learn to have Patience with those who plauge ye, and ye shall overcome their tortures. Have Control over your emotions, and nothing shall rule ye. And have Power over all ya face in battle, and ye shall conquer them." He lets go of the Tag to place his hands on Peter's shoulders, and the Crest above him bursts into bright red light. Peter feels a sense of power as the light floods over him. "Child, your Crest is that of Goodness. Protect the Children who you were born to be their Guardians. The Child of Compassion who has yet to be known. The Child of Thankfulness, who has no idea what shall happen, and the Child of Responsibility, who shall have a heavy weight pressed against his shoulders. I bless ye."

That said, Centarumon turns to the boy's companion, who firmly meets his gaze. He takes out a Tag and Crest, and then walks over to her. He shows the Tag and Crest to everyone. The Tag is neither green nor yellow, but black, pure black. The Crest has a dark -almost black- purple background. It's symbol is the exact same as Peter's, but of totally different colors. Where Peter's moons are gold, her's are a deep gray. Where Peter's jewels are bright red, her's are a sickening blood shade of red. The Crest of Evil.

"Child," Centarumon says to the Arukenimon, his voice full of anger and disgust. "Ye also are the first of your kind, but your kind shall never end, though many shall try to stop it. Ye shall represent all that is evil and wicked in the Digiworld, and ye shall constantly battle that which is good. Ye are proud and very powerful, and your rule shall place terror in the heart of many a Digimon." He lets go of the Tag, and drops his hands to his sides. As he does so, the Crest bursts into a dark red color. "Your Crest is that of Evil." He says loudly, with a venom and vengance in his usually quiet voice. "May it bond with ye and your evil heart! This is my curse apon ye" He turns then and refuses to look at her anymore.

Turning to Peter, he turns the boy around gently, leaving Arukenimon to turn around herself. The Tags fall swiftly, but land softly and perfectly around each of the children's necks. To the surprise of the whole congregation, instead of bursting into bright light like Peter's Crest, Arukenimon's Crest and Tag melt into her body with a dark flash of light, and are never seen again. Then, at the same time, they both Transform with flashes of light. After the light subsides, they feel different. They notice they're taller, and then look at themselves, wondering how they've changed.

Peter's dirty blond hair is shorter, but still long enough to be tied into a loose ponytail, which it is. He's wearing a white hat, and a navy blue cloak with a hood. His light blue eyes sparkle with excitement. He has on a light green and yellow tee shirt with tan jeans.

Arukenimon has made a total change. She holds her head high, her red eyes glistening from behind her purple sun glasses and her upper lip curling in a sneer. Her skin is pale, and her white hair is still long, but is now partly covered by a hat that quite resembled the hats of Wisardmon. Except, where the little skull should be, a figure of a spider is there instead. She wears a red dress with purple stripes on the skirt, a small red cape that didn't go any further then her shoulders, and she has red gloves with golden designs and a red jewel in each one, and she has red boots.

Both Peter and Arukenimon have become perfect replicas of five and six year-old humans.

Centarumon walks over until he's right in the middle of Peter and Arukenimon. He raises his arms high. "Behold!" He cries. "A protector has been born! Goodness! And born also is his enemy! Evil! Long shall their battle rage, and yet none know who shall win, or is any shall ever win!"

~End of Flashback~

I sighed, it was a sigh filled with anger, annoyance, and sadness. Looking up at the Cathedral roof, I remembered a promise I'd made years ago. I'd promised I would never hurt the Wisardmon family, as they'd taken me in as their own years ago. And that was a promise I would always keep.
