Rules For BlackJack (not 100% Vegas compliant)
BlackJack is a card game (you do know about cards, don't you?)
This is a game for You vs the computer.
In this game each CARD has a value:
2 through 9, value is => the number itself
10 through K, value is => 10
A, value is => 1 or 11 (handled automatically)
The OBJECT of the game is to get a hand with a value of 21,
or as close to 21 as possible, without going over.
If you go over 21, that is called going BUST
How to play :
You (and the dealer) are (each) dealt 2 cards, one of the dealer's cards will be face down
- If the dealer has 21 (a Natural>), the dealer wins and scores, game over.
- If the dealer has less than 21 and youu have 21, you win and score, game over.
- If neither of you are dealt exactly 211, then you actually play the game.
You can now click on either the HIT or STAND buttons.
HIT means "I would like another card, please"
STAND means "I have enough cards, thank you"
You may continue to take cards, until ...
1) You are BUST (you lose)
2) You decide to stop
3) You get to 21 exactly, this is not a natural, so you don't win automatically
At this point you get to see the dealer's hidden card
and the dealer (computer) decides whether or not to take more cards, according to the following rules
A) if "I" (the computer) have already won, I will stop taking cards
B) if I have at least 17, I must stop taking cards
C) otherwise I will take another card and go back to option A
Now, who won ?
Whoever has the highest without going over 21 (you can't BOTH be over 21)
If it's a tie, then it's a tie.
SPECIAL RULES
If you have 5 cards, and you are not BUST, you win (this is called a 5-card Charley)
If you are dealt a pair (two cards of the same RANK) then you may SPLIT them into 2 hands.
(then the scoring is a bit more complicated)
When the game is over, click DEAL for another game, with a running tally of the scores
or RESET to set the scores back to zero.
Now you can close this window and continue to play.
