Ringtone-Mode

This mode generates ringtone-like sounds from the phone's built-in camera by analyzing the snapshot with different algorithms. It is possible to alter volume, tempo and polyphony level to change the overall impression of sound. Additionally there are four different algorithm settings chooseable. Please note: You must deactivate automation checkboxes first if you want to alter settings independently from snapshots.

Please go to "Edit"-submenu to alter settings.

"Accurate" algorithm will try to put the most precise transformation of taken picture into sound. Therefore don't expect classical compositions or the next chartbreaker to come out when you photograph your environment! If you choose four voices-polyphony then the fourth voice will represent the base color of the picture.

Choose "Melodic" algorithm to get a more pleasent interpretation of a picture. This algorithm uses a fixed set of tonescales and instruments to get more musically reasonable output.

"Color/RGB" algorithm builds each pixel into a sequence of chords, where each chord is made up of three tones based on the red, green and blue value of an induividual pixel. Therefore polyphony is limited to three voices.

Finally "Random" algorithm uses the AVYS sound engine to synthesize 100% randomly sequences. Well, if you try often enough then you might get chartbreaking melodys and arangements, but as there are very much parameters which are set inside of AVYS, it might be that you must try very very often...

If you find an interesting ringtone come out of AVYS don't hesitate and save it! So you can later reload it and maybe decide to use it as a real ringtone.

With "Send ringtone" you can get the ringtone out of your phone for further editing. Just enter a valid e-mail address and the generated ringtone will be send as an attachment in standard midi format. All further settings are done by AVYS for you, just make sure to use the correct GPRS or UMTS settings within your phone. Don't forget that you will be billed for the data traffic (only around 10 KB) by your operator. Note that some phones might not be able to upload ringtones due to traffic limits. Please ask your phone retailer about details on traffic limits and how to enhance them.

Display-Settings: On supported phones you can switch between pixel representation and normal view. If you encounter a slight delay between triggering a snapshot and hearing the result please switch off "Scale Pic" to boost performance.
