October 4 2002 - The New York Jets went into week 5, 1-3 and needing a win against the Cheifs. The Jets changed quaterbacks and announched Chad Pennington was the new starter. Chad made his first start of his carrer and had a great game throwing for 245 yards, 23 completions and two touchdowns. The game went back and fourth as Pennington hooked up with TE Anthony Becht to end the half with a three point lead. After a Cheifs feild goal Penningotn hit Santana Moss with a great pass in the endzone but the Cheifs scored right away. Pennington then lead the Jets down feild and Hermen Edwards settled for a feild goal. The Jets defense allowed the Cheifs to score the game winning touchdown byt Presit Holms, all in all the Jets suffer another heartbreaking lose and maybe done for the season.
October 20 2002 - The 1-4 Jets came off a bye to play the 1-5 Vikings at the Meadowlands. The Jets dominated from kickoff. Their offense led by Chad Pennington was unstoppable. Pennington threw for 324 yards, 1TD, and no interceptions. Chad mixed  it up throwing all the Jet  Wide Receivers. Chrebet had 56 yards, coles had a TD and 86 yards, santana moss has 111 yards, & martin had 2 receptions and had a solid game with 70 yards rushing and a touchdown. The Jets defense forced 4 turnovers, Damian Robinson, Mo lewis, and Donne Abraham all had a interception. Mo lewis also forced a fumble recovered by marvin jones. The jets crushed the Vikings 20 -7.

November 10 2002 - East Rutherford was rocking for it was Sunday Night football and the hated Miami Dolphins came into town. Ex Jet Ray Lucas was the starting quaterback for the Miami Dolphins to add more drama to this rivalry. The New York Jets were never behind in this game dominating the Dolphin offense forcing three turnovers. Curtis Martin had the Jets only touchdown and John Hall had two feild goals incuding the game winner with three minutes to go.  Despite a poor effort by young quaterback Chad Penninton he never turned the ball over which was key the Jets 13-10 win over the Miami Dolphins,, Chad also hit Coles for a thirty yard pass play to put the Jets in feild goal territory,CANT BREAK THE CURCE!
November 24 2002 - Once again the staduim was rocking as divison rivals the Buffalo Bills came into tow. Both the Jets and Bills were tied for second with 5-5 records. The Jets defense dominated shutting down Travis Henry and superstar Eric Moulds. The defense forced two turnovers on interceptions by Aaron Beasley and Sam Garnes. The offense was clicking as well as running back Curtis Martin has 120 yards rushing. Quaterback Chad Pennington through for two touchdowns and ran for one touchdwon on a fourth and goal. The Jets killed the Bills 31 - 13
