USA-buzz: Marit Larsen’s single ”Don’t save me” is getting noticed in other parts of the world, without any promotion from

USA likes Marit Larsen 

- but the record company is holding back.
Marit Larsen’s single has gained attention among American music-journalists and bloggers.
The influential Fluxblog mentioned the song at the end of February, and since many has followed. 
- This is quite simply one of the best, moost well-composed pop singles so far this year, the review says. 
Fluxblog once were credited for the breakthrough of the Scissor Sisters.


Better than Marion 
Today, Pitchforkmedia printed their review of the song. “Don’t save me” gets four out of five possible. 
Pitchforkmedia has covered other Norwegian artists like Annie and Serena Maneesh earlier on, and is one of the world’s most 
influential sites for alternative music.

Stylus Magazine goes even further, and gives a review of the whole album. “Under the Surface” receives an A-. The reviewer, 
Todd Burns, says that both Marit and Marion have started their solo-careers well. 
-But Marit more so, since the world alreaddy has several Avril’s and Ashlee’s that play angst-rock, but none that makes 
something as funny and original as “Under the Surface”.  
 

Focus on Norway
It’s not possible to buy neither the single nor the album in the USA yet, and it still can take some time before that 
eventually happens. 
Even though Larsen has a contract with EMI internationally, the company’s Norwegian branch tells us that she is totally 
focused on the home market for the time being. 

- That there is a buzz from abroad at thiss early stage is just nice. I see no problem in the fact that the old M2M-fans 
like the material and writes about it. It can only be of help to us further on, export director of EMI Norway, Gyro Leira, 
tells us. 
She will not give us any info about when the album eventually can be released outside of Norway. 
- No, I can’t be specific about that. And  that is because we simply have not done anything purposely to introduce her to 
our foreign colleagues yet.
