After the success of Shades of Purple, Norwegian pop became more important, and also did M2M. The girls, Marion (vocals, piano, acoustic guitar, percussion) and Marit (vocals, acoustic guitar, rhytmic guitar) teamed up with producer Jimmy Bralower for their new CD, which is a collection of teen pop songs. Miss Popular and Everything are already leading European charts. The Big Room shows how much these girls have grown up since their first steps in the music industry. "It's been 3 years and of course many things have changed" says Marion, who appears in the pic next to Shakira. "When we made our first album, we were still trying to find out who we were. Now, the second one shows how much we've grown up as artists and as people. Our fans are growing up too" explains Marit, "and I hope they're growing up with us. We wrote out songs about things we've been through and stuff that has happened since the last CD. Our fans must have been through a lot of things too". The Big Room was recorded in the legendary Bearsville Studios, which can be found in Woodstock, New York. The CD is named after the principal room of the studio, which happens to be very big. In this new CD, M2M creates a pop sound based on guitars. Their principal inspirations are artists like Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow and Jewel. M2M first appeared in 1999 with the hit Don't Say You Love Me, from the soundtrack of the famous movie Pokémon The First Movie.
