| The M43-Series Pulse Rifles are simplistic, but hard-hitting designs. Using the theory of 'Energy-Assisted Projectile' they fire a 3x30mm spike of Platinum with a Tungsten Carbide Steel core encased in a Phaser Bolt of a setting of Level-20. The weapon is based on a similar layout to the ECR16 but the entireity of the body is encased in Tritanium Plates to protect the electronic secondary workings. Both weapons have a select-mode firing in the Semi, 5-Round Burst, and Fully Automatic modes of fire. The A1 model utilizes a fold-in butt-stock. The Charge Pack for the Phaser Systems is under the barrel in the Forearm and its garenteed for 10,000 rounds. Behind it is the Magazine containing 100 spikes. The A6 differs in that it has a solid butt-stock containing the Charge Pack, and in the forearm is a 70mm Pump-Action Shotgun with a magazine of 5 rounds. Optional rounds usuaily include a full load of explosive slugs, but solid slugs, buckshot, and flachette rounds are available on the bandolier sling. Available on both models are a 'secondary' mode of fire. In case of operating under a energy-dampening field or other adverse conditions, the weapon has a gas-piston and Compressed Helium pack mounted along the base of the carrying handle. The weapon uses this to propel the spikes without the phaser energy. A small valve set under the rear of the handgrip is attached to a barameter and labeled in incriments of 100 meters per second, ranging from 100 to 800 meters, to adjust the mussle velocity of the spikes for operating in other types of atmospheres. |
