Flight Deck (formerly Top Gun) is a steel, inverted roller coaster built in 1994 as Canada's first and only looping, inverted jet coaster. It is based on the 1986 film Top Gun, and is meant to stimulate the feeling of riding in an F-14 fighter jet. It is one of Vekoma's standard, cookie cut-out SLCs (Suspended Looping Coaster), with 6 inversions including barrel rolls, and inverted loop wingovers. The ride is heavily themed after the movie, with various props alongside the line-up, including models of the F-14 aircraft, hangars, radar installations, army trucks, and informational posters about the making of the movie. Since its early inception the ride has been known as the flagship ride in the park.

Ride Experience
Flight Deck is a thrilling one minute and thirty-six second blur. The ride starts by climbing up the chain lift hill until you get to the top. Then you fly down a banked 109 foot drop into a heart-shaped barrel roll loop inversion. Next you swing past the station and go into a half-loop helix inversion. Next, you go through a series of two inline twists and two barrel rolls. Finally, you take a turn through two inverted bunny hops and a fast turn into the brak run, which takes you into the station. Top Gun is rough and finishes nearly as soon as it begings, but it is very thrilling and fun and definately worth the wait.

Other Information
Top Gun took the place of where Zumba Flume, a large log flume type ride, used to be located between Xtreme Skyflyer and The Great Whale of China.
Colours: The track is silver, the supports are black, and the trains are red.
Best Seats: You should sit in the front seats if you can because you get less of the headbanger effects which can hurt throughout the ride. As well, it will be a more exciting experience.
Queue Line Wait Time: There is normally quite a long wait for this ride because it's very popular. Usually a 1 to 2 hour wait.
