| Time Warp (formerly Tomb Raider: The Ride) received its original name from the video game series Tomb Raider, and was opened to correspond with the second Tomb Raider movie, The Cradle of Life. Debuting in 2004, it was the thirteenth roller coaster added to the park, and Canada's first "flying coaster" as riders lie flat on their stomachs in a car suspended from overhead, in order to take in the experience face-first. The ride has no vertical inversions, but contains two Heartline rolls. The opening of Tomb Raider: The Ride displaced two older rides; The Fury and The Great Whale of China. There are 7 cars; riders are arranged 4 across in a single row for a total of 4 riders per car. Ride Experience Time Warp begins by taking your car straight forward into this spiraling lift with the motor in the centre that reminds you of a giant egg beater. Once you reach the top you quickly head straight into a small drop and then go through a series of two Hearline rolls before turning around and coming back towards the station as you dive and swing flying back and forth as you come down closer and closer to the ground. Your picture is taken and then you head back into the station. Other Information Colours: The track is yellow, the supports are half teal and half blue for a seafoam green look in combination, and the cars are deep orange. Best Seats: Since there are no trains but single cars, there is really no best seat as all four riders in each car experience the same cool sensation of flying. Queue Line Wait Time: There is normally a long wait for this ride as it is still fairly new and is quite popular among all ages; expect about a 45 minute to 1 hour wait. |
