| Built in 1987, The Bat is a classic Vekoma steel boomerang roller coaster. It is a short and exhilerating coaster that packs double the thrillls by going through the ride forwards, and then after completing that run of the track's length, it does it all over again by repeating the run in reverse. The coaster features a loop and a cobra roll. Ride Experience The Bat consists of a single train with seven cars, capable of carrying 28 passengers. The ride begins when the train is pulled backwards from the station and up a lift hill, before being released. After being released, the train passes through the station, enters a Cobra roll element, then travels through a vertical loop. Upon exiting the loop, the train runs up a second lift hill, parallel to the first. Once out of momentum, the train is towed to the top of the lift hill, and is held for several breath-taking seconds before being released; travelling through the roller coaster in reverse before returning to the station. The Bat is a short bu thrilling ride. Other Information The Bat's train was originally one of three from Dragon Fire. This is because this coaster only ever used two of its trains, so the third was taken out of storage and moved to The Bat to be put in use. Colours: The track is red, the supports are black, and the trains are a brownish-red colour. Best Seats: Sit in the back seats for the greatest G-forces feeling when going backwards through the loops. Queue Line Wait Time: There is normally at least a 45 minute to 1 hour wait for this ride because it is one of the most popular in the park and since it only has one train, the loading time is long. |
