August 8/10??, 2004

We reached at the park at 11:30am and decided to head over to Tomb Raider: The Ride first thing right away to try out the new ride before the line got extremely long later in the day. We were surprised to see quite a lot of people in the park already. By the time we were finished our first ride an hour had already passed and I could tell it would be a long, crowded day in which we wouldn't get many rides done. Since Skyrider was so close my friends decided to go on it next. It was one of my friend's first time riding Skyrider and he really enjoyed it. I still wasn't ready for it yet. After that we went back across International Street and into Medieval Faire to ride the Bat. This turned out to be a horrible decision because the line was huge and we had to wait forever. After waiting like 45 minutes we heard an announcement say that the ride was broken and had a temporary delay. Finally after another long session of waiting we got on some middle seats of the ride. It was my first time on this coaster too and it was so scary going up the first launch hill! Going backwards wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, or at least not so much as the feeling of dizzyness and disorientation I felt after the ride. Next since it was already like 2:00pm we took a break and went for lunch at my favourite food place, Southside Grille where we all had the chicken and fries combo. We took a long time at lunch, talked, laughed and just relaxed. By this time it was 3:30 pm and we felt like playing some games and just relaxing some more since the weather was so crappy and it looked like a storm was coming. We went to the arcade complex in Grande World Exposition and played a variety of games such as skeeball, get a DVD, car racing video games, etc. We spent a lot of money and in the end I was ready to get back out to riding, so we headed over to Dragon Fire, and it turned out to be a fun ride that wasn't to scary. It was very rough though and left my head hurting for a while! Next we went back over to the Skyrider because I was finally ready to try it. I had such a great time on this ride, the sensation while standing up is so different and unique from other rides. I did make the mistake of kicking up my leg in excitement at one point, lol! After this my friends were tired and felt like taking a break. I tried to get them to go on Timberwolf Falls with me but they didn't feel like getting wet, or so they said, so I went on by myself and I thought I could get out with just a few drops but they turned out to be right as I got soaked! Next they wanted to go on Top Gun but I said I wasn't ready yet so two of us went back to Dragon Fire while the other one waited. This time I rode in the front seat and I can honestly say that I got over my fear of heights and looping rides because I didn't feel scared at all, I was just laughing and having a good time the whole ride through. My other friend kept trying to hint at Top Gun but I said I still wasn't ready, who knows probably next year, I need to make my progress in little steps. By this time it was 8:30 pm and we were famished so we went back to Southside Grille where one of my friends ordered another chicken & fries combo. I always wanted to try a funnel cake after hearing everyone at school talk about how good they are so I got one at Fightertown Funnel Cakes. I got the complete funnel cake with icing, strawberries and ice cream and while I enjoyed the cake itself I didn't really care for the cold ice cream. The dough was a little too crispy but I think I would have really enjoyed it if I just got the dough with icing. After this it was approaching 9:00 pm and we headed out to go catch the GO Bus back home. Overall even though we didn't get to go on many rides it was a fun day and I got over some of my fears and went on many of the rides I always wanted to for the first time.
