| June 22, 2001 We went to Wonderland with our school as an end of year trip. We left school at 9:00 am and arrived at the park at 10:00 am. When we first entered the weather was good and we decided to head to the back to start things off since it would be quieter there. The first ride we wanted to try just for the fun of it was Silver Streak which was pretty good. Then we went over next door to the Paramount Action Theatre featuring 7th Portal. It was a really cool ride with the 3-D glasses seeing all of the characters coming towards us, don't miss it! After 7th Portal we made the mistake of heading over to Timberwolf Falls. The weather suddenly changed and it started to rain for a little while. We were waiting in line for a long time until we found out that the ride wouldn't be opening until 11:30 am (we didn't realize that Timberwolf Falls opens after most of the other rides). Since Vortex was so close we couldn't pass up the opportunity so after about 45 minute wait we got on. Man was this an amazing ride! My favourite parts of the ride are where you go completely sideways after the drop and when you swoop across the water. After that it was lunch time and we had to check in with our teachers. They gave us coupons for food, merchandise and games then we went back into Hanna-Barbera Land to eat at New York Fries. We each orderd their poutine of fries topped with cheese and gravy. By now we wanted to go back to Timberwolf Falls and it was fun we got all splashed! Since White Water Canyon was right behind Timberwolf Falls we rode it too and got even more soaked. We kept moving left and went on SkyRider next which provided great amounts of airtime, one of my favourite coasters at the park. We went into Grand World Exposition and rode Sol Loco and Jet Scream. We also stopped by the Coca-Cola Cool Zone with all the sprays and mist to beat the heat but didn't buy any of the beverages because it was very expensive. After this we went over to the next side of the mountain, Medieval Faire and went on Cliffhanger, my favourite flat ride in the park, The Rage swinging pirate ship, and then Klockwerks. Last of all we took a ride on Dragon Fire since it was a short wait. By then it was 3:30 pm and time to meet back up with the group to catch the bus back to school. - Written by Saif, I. |
