Part 11
Caine was in his home when he felt Peter's pain. He tried to block it out, but it was just too much. He sat there and endured it. He wept for the pain that Peter was going through. He blamed himself for Peter being in his current position. If only he had gone with Peter, he wouldn't have been abducted again and in the pain he is in. He felt Peter's call for help, and each cry only tore at his heart. He would get this Travis and see him brought to justice.
"Those thoughts will not do you or your son any good."
Caine turned and saw the Ancient standing there. "But Master, how can I not. How can I not think those thoughts? It is my fault that Peter is missing. I should have been aware that this Travis meant to do my son more harm. I should have watched over Peter more closely."
"You could not have known that Peter was in any danger. You did your best. Now you must concentrate on helping your son. Tell me, what has happened to young Peter?"
Caine explained what he felt. He said that he felt the pain that ripped through Peter. He told of how it almost caused him to black out. But he didn't know what had happened to Peter.
"Master, I must go talk to Kermit. He may have found something. Please
excuse me." With that Caine bowed and left.

Kermit sat with Karen in her office. He felt bad about breaking the chair, but he had to let go of some anger. Kermit knew that it was his fault that Peter had been beaten. When they got him back, Kermit would make up for it.
" Kermit, you can not blame yourself for what has happened. You could not have known where exactly Travis was talking about. Why don't you try again. Have you asked Caine if he knows anything?"
Kermit had forgotten all about Caine. He wondered if Caine knew of the beating that Peter had.
"Yes, I do know of my son's pain."
Both people in the room turned saw Caine standing there. "Caine it is good to see you. I am sorry it could not have been under better conditions. Do you know where Peter is?" said Karen.
"I do not. I would like to help Kermit in his search."
"How did you? Never mind. I would be glad to have your help. At least this time I won't mess up and Peter won't pay, like the last time."
"Please, can you tell me what has happened to my son?"
"I thought that you said you knew what has happened with Peter."
"No. I know of his pain, nothing more."
Karen told Caine what had happened. Caine said nothing, but she could see that he had paled. "Kermit, shall we go and find this next clue. We must find Peter quickly. His body grows weaker, with each passing hour. I will try to strengthen his chi. But we must hurry."
With the help of Caine, Kermit found the right building. Inside they found the next clue.
It read:
Clue Number Two:
This place is where you and I almost met for the first time. I made this one easier for you because our dear friend Peter could not handle another round so soon. Beware, the next clue will not be that easy to guess.
Kermit looked at Caine. He knew that this meant the warehouse where they found Peter the first time. They hurried over there and found clue number three. This time Kermit didn't need to open it, for when Caine got close to it he tensed up.
"Caine what is it? What is wrong? Is it Peter?"
"I feel his presence very strongly in this place. It is almost as if he is here, underneath us." Caine used his chi to track this feeling. He traced it all the way back to Peter. "He is here. So is the man that we seek. Follow me. We must move quickly. They know that we are here, and that we know were Peter is." Kermit couldn't believe it. Peter had been right here the whole time. He never thought Travis would be so stupid as to leave a clue in the same exact place that he was holding Peter. But then Kermit guessed that Travis wasn't counting on Caine helping him.
"Well, then, lets go."

Kermit and Caine had come to the door where Peter was. Caine had said that men were waiting to kill them when they came through. He told Kermit to wait here, while he went to see if there was a different way in. While he was waiting for Caine, he thought about what he would do to Travis when he got a hold of him. Just then Kermit heard a commotion on the other side of the door, and then the door burst open. Out came flying one of the goons. Kermit rushed in to find three guys all knocked out, and Caine standing in the middle of them.
"I thought you where going to find a different way in, not take out everyone yourself."
Caine only shrugged, and took off to get Peter. Kermit followed behind. As they were getting closer they heard a gun shot go off.
