Double Leaders

Author's Notes: My hero from the first Suikoden was named Rudy. My hero from the second Suikoden is Vahn. ((If you recall these names, that very good. Rudy was main character in Wild Arms. Vahn was main character in Legend of Legaia.))

The sun was shining. The air smell sweet. Everything was beautiful and peaceful. Maybe that why Rudy came here. Or maybe to get rid of the memories of war. He need someone to talk to. Someone to understand him. Rudy knew how he felt about war. After the war, He went to Gregminster . He found that Rudy has return to Banner Town. Vahn chuckles to himself. Rudy likes fishing way too much. "Do you guy mind waiting for me at inn? I would like to talk to him alone." Vahn said as he turn to his friends. Jowy and Nanami.

Jowy. He was his best friend. Once, he was the enemy. Jowy was the former King of Highland. He was same man who kill Annibelle and hundreds of others. Yet, he forgive him. He couldn't hold a grudge. The Blue Shield Rune suit him perfectly. His most powerful healing spell was "Forgiven Oath". To match his forgiving nature.

Nanami. Nanami was his sister. Not his real sister. But his adopted sister. She was still family to him. "I will be fine, Nanami. I will be with Rudy. No, I wouldn't catch a cold. Why don't you talk to Gremio? He should be inside." Vahn said. He sighed as he watch them go inside. Did I forget to tell you, she is my older sister.

He laid my pack near the edge of the dock. Rudy was fishing. But his face.. His face looks content and relax. "Hello, Rudy." Vahn said. Rudy turn his head and smiles. "Hello, Vahn. Come sit down." Rudy said. "Thanks." Vahn said. He sit next to Rudy on the dock. Then silent fell between them. "I heard the war was over." Rudy said to break the silent. "Yes." Vahn said. "How does it feel?" Rudy said. "I don't know. I have all these emotions. Happy, Sad, Guilty, and Angry. Do you understand these emotions?" Vahn said. "Yes, very much. One of the reasons, I left. It takes time to sort out those emotions." Rudy said as he pull in his line and check the bait. Then he throw the line out again.

"What are your plans now?" Rudy said. "I going to travel. I want to see the world. I want to forget. To forget the bloodshed. The pain." Vahn said sadly. Rudy said nothing for a moment. "I did at one time. To forget that I had to tell someone's family that their little boy wasn't come home. That I killed my father." Rudy said sadly. "Me and you were too young to fight in these wars. To lead. But we had not chance to chose. We must fight because we lost anything we would have hold dear." Vahn said softly.

Then silent full between them once again. "You are right. So, how is Kasumi?" Rudy said. Vahn smiles. "She is fine. I think she would return to Rokkaku" Vahn said. "Good. I can visit her on the way back." Rudy said. "You like her, don't you?" Vahn said. Rudy turn red. "Like the way, you like Eilie." Rudy said. Then Vahn turn red. Then everything turn serious. "We never will forget, will we?" Vahn said. "Probably not, it may fade into our memories." Rudy said. Rudy looks at the dark sky. "I think it time to turn in." Rudy said. "Yes, you are right." Vahn said. The two leaders stop for a second. "But it was one adventure you would never forget." Rudy said. The two former leaders of the respecting armies laughed as they walk toward the inn.
