Hollyhock Planting Tips For Zone 6a
Hollyhocks can be planted early in the spring, for next years bloom, or in the fall for summer blooms. I try to start my seedling in medium
pots in the mid to late summer. I then try to protect them during the coldest parts of my zone 6a winters, by putting them under eaves of our house, or piling leaf debris on top. I want the seedlings to be as big
as I can get them before the cold winter blows in. They have a better chance of survival if they have a few months to grow.
If all goes well, come mid to late summer, I should have nice full blooms
to give me lots of seed to do it all again! (Still Under CONSTRUCTION)
