Chapter 45 : Kiyashi! Keep those eyes somewhere else!
'What if he doesn't make it, what if it's too late? What if my dream wasn't a nightmare, but a prediction?'
The thought sent a shiver down her back, blood pounding out a solid beat in her ears. Fear for Vegeta made her knees go weak and Bulma was forced to leave the glass to sit down before she fell. A wave of nausea caught her unawares, her face paling and her hands trembling.
"I feel sick." She confided weakly, before lurching towards the door as her stomach made a first attempt to empty itself of her light lunch.
Before she was guided out of the room Bulma glanced back longingly through the thick glass.
'~PLEASE get better, Geta...~' She pleaded along their well-established link.
His mind did not reply.
"If I wreck your life again, Bulma, I'll never forgive myself." He whispered to the glass.
He knew that he had been under the influence of the Harathokin enemy when he gave the Saiya-jin no Ouji a bolt of the leathal poison but couldn't shake the feeling of guilt. Perhaps, if Vegeta survived all this, Bulma would eventually let him be her friend again, but Yamcha doubted it.
'I deserve it...' He bowed his head, and preyed to Kami.
"W-where am I?" She asked groggily, trying to move but stopping at the intense pain the action shot through her.
The last face in the world she wanted to see loomed into her vision.
"Why hello there!" Bunny greeted in her cheerfull manner, "Feeling better?"
Kiyashi's eyes went wide dispite the light. "Go. away." She ordered, then looked around, "Where's my brother, I want to speak with him."
Kiyashi lay still on the uncomfortable metal table, sorting everything over in her mind as Bunny went off to tell Bulma the good news of one life saved. He nearly died so you could live. What had Vegeta done? And was she really... better?
"Excuse me." A dark haired male scientist said, clearing his throat to gain her attention.
He did have it. Completely and absolutely.
'There are better things to do around here than goggle at good looking doctors!' She reminded herself.
The man smiled, "Right, now that you're awake we need to run some tests to make sure you're completely alright..."
"You must rest." He ordered but Vegeta brushed him away with a growl.
"I'm fine. That was just because of my mate." He insisted, eyeing the bucket with distaste. He hoped that never happened again.
The doctor sighed, previous encounters with Capsule Corporation's resident Saiya-jin teaching him better than to get in the prince's way, and let him pass.
"That was disgusting." He commented from behind her, his deep voice setting all the hairs along her neck on end.
"Vegeta?" She turned to see him standing there, still a few shades paler than normal but looking far better than before, with his arms crossed over his chest.
Bulma smiled at him, "You know, I would give you a hug and everything, but I stink."
"So do I, thanks to you and your weak human stomach."
"Soooo, you've been in there doing the same as I've been doing out here?" She giggled, releif making her feel like a ten year old.
"It's not funny." He retorted, the corner of his mouth twitching upwards a little.
"Oh yes it is!" His mate responded, hugging him tight dispite the fact that they both stank to high heaven, "But you being alive is better!"
Bulma laughed even harder at him as Vegeta held out a hand. Goku looked surprised for a second, not really expecting him to cooperate that easily, but then he smiled. No prob with that! Vegeta juddered slightly as Kakarot's power left his body, leaving him with only one person's ki rather than two to support his tired body. His real fatigue started to come through but he held it off for now. He could sleep as long as he liked later before getting back to his training. Goku looked much better now and flashed the two of them the peace sign before using the instant transmission to get out of there.
He gave her a strange look, "Why would I want someone else's power? It's hardly worth anything if I didn't earn it."
"Whatever." Something she had put aside before suddenly leapt into her head, "Oh yeah, did you know that you make a really kawaii blonde?"
"Oh really..."
"Alright." She swished her tail easily through the air, "Happy?"
He frowned, "No, I'm not. That didn't look right."
"What do you mean it didn't look right?!" She demanded, "What do you know about Saiya-jin tails?"
"A lot more than you'd think." He answered, wrapping both hands one above the other around the base of her tail. O.o
'For the love of Kami...' She thought to herself, 'What does he think he's doing? But it does feel good... Argh! Stop thinking that! We're not here to flirt with doctors who are just doing their job! Repeat...' <[> "Move it again." He ordered so she did, trying unsuccessfully to ignore the pleasure his hands on her tail were giving her.
He moved both hands further toward the tip of her tail. "Again."
So she did.
'Help help help help help help help help help help...'
"What?" She wanted to know, "Annoyed you don't have any more tail to feel?"
'Please don't tell me I just said that...'
"Sort of." He replied flirtaceously, "But the real problem is that the tip didn't move when you did that."
The Saiya-jin no Hime blinked, "Nani?"
"I'll do that..." She replied and practically sprinted out of the door... Straight into him again.
"What the...?" Kiyashi wondered, rubbing her nose in amazement, that had almost hurt...
The doctor looked around to make sure they were alone before bending close.
