Chapter 34 : Memories of an Elite

Kiyashi caught up with Vegeta just in time. The ship was preparing for take off, all doors closed and engines whirring as they started up. Swiftly she entered the code, got inside, and closed the door behind her.

"Where are we going?" She asked her brother when she joined him.

"To the Harathokin ship." He hissed, "To save my mate."

Kiyashi-Hime took a step back. 'Oh no, not there...'

Memories assulted her in a torrent of images and feelings. She never wanted to remember... Never wished to remember...

' "We got one, my lord." A high ranking Hararthokin told his master, pulling Kiyashi foward. "She is the strongest one too, sire."

The cruel creature leered at the Saiya-jin no Hime, still not healed after the crash of her precious ship. "You should be thanking us, Kiyashi. You know you would have died."

It was the truth. After the crash she had been wounded and disoriented, the faces of her crewmates, dead on the hard steel floor, flowing through her mind at all times refusing her the option of concentration or rest. She had been unbareably weak, having neither eaten or slept since Raython had forced them to their fates. Kiyashi's fate seemed meaner than the others as she staggered through life, sensing her long lost brother's ki but unable to get to him...

"Now you owe us." The creature was saying, "So I want you to go down there and kill Vegeta."

Kiyashi held her head high in defiance. "I'll never do anything to help you."

"I beleive you have no choice. Weak as you currently are there is nothing you could do to resist whatever we decide to do to you, true?"

"There is nothing you can do to make me back down." She hissed.

"Be that way."

Her Harathokin guard pulled her away, shoving her through a different door into something that looked like a... laboratory. The Saiya-jin no Hime's eyes flicked from corner to corner of the room, taking everything in like always. The walls were white metal, lined by tables and computer monitors. There were tubes and cords and beakers of who knows what, all laid out in order along the metallic tables. Computers spewed out read-outs that were collected and read by Harathokin scientists. Kiyashi suddenly found herself very uneasy about the whole situation. She was too weak to resist right now, her plan had been to wait until she was better before trashing the place. Now she didn't think she could wait that long without some panic...'

A perfectly feasible panic, she knew now.

'I wonder what I would have done if I had known... If I had thought before I defied him. It would have been like my service to Freiza, pretend to do as he says and then disobey. I should have done that... If only I had...'

She settled down into her own seat, the one she had sat in on that fatefull day, and let the memory continue. Perhaps it would leave her alone if she let it come...

' "Come here." A Harathokin ordered.

Before Kiyashi could even react to the fact that she had been called she was thrown forward, her hunger-weak knees threatening to collapse. The cheif scientist held up a needle, filled with a pale liquid. Kiyashi had to phsically stop herself from flinching back, it had been a needle that had killed her mother all those years ago. She could still remember the Saiyan beauty's screams as Freiza's killer liquid boiled her veins and cooked her alive.

"I give you one last chance." The scientist told her, "Either you do as my lord says or you die a long and painfull death."

She bit back her fear, forcing her face into a confident smirk, "I'd never do anything for your pitifull lord and if you think whatever that is will kill me, you may find yourself mistaken." She held out her arm, "Go ahead, see if I care..." '

The stupidest thing she had ever done was on that day, when she offered the scientist her arm. 'Go ahead, see if I care...' The words echoed in her own head as Kiyashi watched her brother pace in frustration.

"Can't this thing go any faster?!" He cried.

Kiyashi said nothing, knowing his temper and not wanting to have to face it. Let the memories come...

'The pain caused by the needle was nothing to Kiyashi, a simple prick and it was over.

She shook her head, "Call that pain?"

"Not yet, my dear." The scientist rubbed his clawed pruple hands together in anticipation, "But soon enough."

The Saiya-jin elite was shoved off by her guard and taken to the room where she was to stay the night. It was small, with a tiny Harathokin sized bed and little floor room. Kiyashi was shoved inside, finally letting herself sit as the guard left. She was tired and hungry, but she hardly cared. Right now all she knew was that there was an alien substance inside her that was probably highly destructive and that she was still likely to be sent to kill her brother down on Chikyuusei.
She opened her link to her brother, currently training somewhere. His ki was high, just like always. She was so releived to know that he wa alive... But she would never forgive herself if the stuff in her arm forced her to kill him. If she could kill him, that was. Their ki seemed to be almost exactly the same and if Kiyashi was doing her best to hold back it was sure to effect her chances somewhat. She lay down on the rough carpet and tried to sleep. It wouldn't come. Instead she found a strange nauceous sensation creaping through her stomach. And then it spread and changed.
Pain shot through the arm that had received the shot, nearly making the half asleep elite scream. She had not been expecting that. The sharp pain spread through her like water, flooding her very being with agony. She blocked herself against it, something she'd find herself doing often over the next three months...'

That had been the start of her suffering, stemming from that one arrogant gesture. From there it had got no better, only worse. She had been forced to go down to Chikyuusei, were she hid until she was strong enough to avoid looking a fool when she saw Vegeta again. When her wounds from the crash were finaly healed she had kidnapped Bunny, using the old tail trick to keep her brother asleep and make it look like she was actually doing her job... And then, rejoined with her brother and meeting his mate-to-be, she defied them completely and made it obvious which side she was on. The Harathokins were not happy with her, but neither was she. Her own stupidity had landed her where she was and she didn't even try to pass the blame.
But she could get revenge.
