Chapter 27 : Bulma's Promise
'Okay my little Saiya-jin,' She thought evily, 'Time to wake up so I can get some breakfast.'
Putting two fingers in her mouth Bulma blew hard, the resulting sound jolting both warriors awake. Covering his overly sensative ears Vegeta fell backwards onto the floor, his head making a nasty meeting with the wall. His sister got the same sort of treatment, jerking awake and knocking her chair over that, in turn, deposited her on the ground. The princess said something that sounded rude in a gutteral language and rubbed her tail.
"What was that for?!" They demanded in chorus, tails whipping.
Bulma couldn't help herself, she laughed out loud.
"What's so funny, onna?" Vegeta hissed angrily, head smarting.
"I don't particularly enjoy being awoken in such a manner." Kiyashi added icily. As always, her royal upbringing managed to show in her anger.
Brother and sister exchanged looks.
"Do I look funny to you?" Vegeta asked her.
"No. Do I?"
He shook his head, "You're just downright freaky..."
As soon as his little sis left the room Vegeta turned to Bulma, his obsidian eyes showing sign of concern.
"She looks all right." The Chikyuu-jin asured him, knowing what he was worrying about. "If it were anything serious she'd have told you, right?"
Vegeta shook his head. "You don't know Kiyashi. She never complains, no matter what she's suffering through."
"Unlike someone I know." Bulma giggled in an attempt to lighten the mood. She leant her head on Vegeta's shoulder and batted her lashes seductively. "Come on, let's get some breakfast."
"Hey Veggie, do you think you guys could teach me to fly today?"
"We could try," Kiyashi speculated, "But I'm not really sure how..."
Expectant eyes were turned to Vegeta, who frowned. "How the Hell should I know?"
"You can fly. Just tell me what you do and I'll do it!"
"You can breathe. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it!" He replied, "Flying and breathing are as easy as each other to me; I could always do both."
Bulma pouted like a little child. "But I wanna fly..."
"We could always drop you from the highest building in town and hope your ki kicks in..." Kiyashi suggested thoughtfully.
"NO!!!!!!!!!!" Her companions practically screamed.
The Saiya-jin warrior blinked, "Um, why not?"
"Long story." Bulma told her, shaking her head. "ut if you're gonna throw me from a building you can for get the whole thing."
"I think there might be another way." Vegeta muttered before leaving the others outside.
"Forget it!" He yelled, "You have no frigging talent with your ki. I might as well try to teach your father's blasted feline to fly, I'd be sure to have more success! But then, that wouldn't be difficult, would it onna?!"
"I wish I wasn't so crap at this." She moaned, "Now he's not gonna talk to me for ages!"
Kiyashi sighed. "Don't worry about it Bulma. It runs in our family to snap like that, don't blame yourself."
" 'Runs in the family' ? So you're mad at me too?" She sat next to the Saiya-jin no Hime and stared up at the puffy white clouds above them.
"A little." Kiyashi admitted, "But I knew I was getting mad. That was one reason why I came down here, to cool off."
"Your other reason doesn't happen to relate to your blacking out last night does it?" Bulma probed carefully, her experience with Vegeta helping her pry information from his sister.
Kiyashi looked away. "Maybe."
Kiyashi-Hime fixed her with a familiar obsidian gaze. "Do you know how to control your thoughts?" She asked unexpectedly.
"Huh?"
"Can you stop your thoughts from traveling to Vegeta's mind?" She rephrased her sentance.
"No." The warrior princess turned back to the sky. "The man who was going to be my mate was killed in the crash before we had the time to bond."
"Oh. I'm sorry..."
"I don't want your pity." Kiyashi informed her, "I can live with loss. I had to."
"I guess so. Life's tough, Vegeta told me as much."
Bulma smiled at the thought. Never again would she regret inviting a certain hostile, supercilious {my word!!!} prince to live with her. Yamcha had made her life Hell and Vegeta had done so well in helping her pull everything back together and clear it all u... wait a minute.
"I'm not exactly, uh, mated to Vegeta yet you know." She told Kiyashi uncomfortably.
"I know."
"Vegeta told you?!"
"No, I can smell virginity on both of you." Kiyashi responded nonchalantly, like this was nothing.
"You and your nose, Vegeta and his ears... Man, you can't get anything past you Saiya-jin!"
"Naturally. We ARE the strongest race in the universe."
"It doesn't matter."
"Kiyashi?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you scared?"
A slight nod of the head.
"Don't be. Geta and I'll get you out of this mess, whatever it is."
