Definitions
Warrant - A written order issued by a court of competent jurisidiction (be it a search warrant, bench warrant, etc.). Warrants can allow officers to search a house, arrest someone that has escaped, or maybe even to arrest one who failed to come to court on a set date.
Jury - A body of citizens who decide on the facts and issues of a court case, who usually decide the fate of the offender. They are picked at random, and have no ties or associations with the offender. Every juror has the potential to serve on a murder trial.
3rd degree murder - The killing of an individual without the intent of murder. 20 years first offense.
2nd degree murder - The killing of one being without the intent of killing. You get around a 30-50 year imprisonment punishment on your first offense.
1st degree murder - This form of murder is the willful killing of an individual and most likely punishable by life in prison, or death where applicable.
Manslaughter - The killing of an individual without the intent of intentionally doing it. (EX: 2 kids were in a pool and one kid drowns because the other kid dunked him and he didn't realize how long he was holding him under for. That is manslaughter. Not as bad as 3rd degree murder.)
