"Commitment" ... or ... "cause I meant to...?"

"Commitment" ... or ... "cause I meant to...?"

As y'all know, it's been said, ..."the road to Hell is paved with good intentions"... I don't know who originally said it, but it's true all day, since the beginning of time. One thing that really sets "mzstephens" off is people who don't honor their commitments. Whether it be on your job, in your church, with your family, or to your significant other ... understand that when you commit to something, it is not to be taken lightly.

Now I'm not talkin' bout folks who try and just can't, no matter the effort they put into things. I'm talkin' bout "U people" - (yes, I said "that")... that one day decide a situation / assignment / arrangement / relationship, etc., etc., isn't for them, ... (YOU), and simply walk away. Who do you think you are(?) that you can inconvenience or wreak havoc on peoples lives with little or no explanation? No one deserves to be left holding up not only their end of the responsibility, but yours also, just because you changed your mind or think YOU suddenly "found yourself", and "this" is no longer for you. NOT!!! If you feel some apprehension at the beginning, ... say so. It's that easy. Don't allow things to go so far even as the planning stages. Before the signing of a two year cellular phone contract, a four year car payment, a lease, or a fifteen year mortgage ... "pump ya' brakes" and go sit your behind down somewhere, cause you know you're not "keepin' it real" See, you're the type that when others set aside time and effort to support you, you find every excuse under the sun not to reciprocate. ..."Well, I thought I could" ... or ... "I really meant to, but..." aren't good enough excuses. That's being self-centered, and you know you never intended to "anyway", because you're living in a "Peter Pan" world right along with "what's his name ... ?" You know, ol' boy with the crazy clothes and the bad hair do ... Don't! First and foremost, remember - "God don't like Ugly, so do unto others what you would have done unto you!”
I'm tryin' to be nice, as this is a sensitive issue. My goal here is just to give a "reality check", and most of you know this doesn't apply to you, but for those of you who do fall into this category - Dust off that space between your ears, and ask yourself ..."what am I doing?" - "what's holding me back from meeting this challenge, other than myself?" ... "why can't this work?, all I've got to do is apply myself", and the most important question of all, ..."How would I feel if someone did this to me?". Instead of spending so much time talking others into doing things for you, how about cheerleading for yourself? Just once, go ahead and follow through with what you started. You can finish, and be a proud finisher too! Oh, and by the way, you owe somebody an apology, "Chump!"

til' next week y'all - "mzstephens" is appreciating and loving your responses so far, but for the sake of publication, please keep anything you post, clean, OK?
