... you paid for that? ...
Ladies listen, there's a reason women have biological clocks, ... 'cause that lil' screaming, slobbering, monster you're tryin' to pull up off the floor in the middle of the cereal aisle - should be your "grandchild" and on his way back home to his parents, instead of a laboratory experiment implanted in your Uterus at the ripe ol' age of ... 49?! If he (or she) were mine, I'd have tapped that "behind" a long time ago - (Yes, I did spank my children, and as adults they are none the worse for it either - I was spanked, and if it was good enough for me, it was good enough for them too.)
The "terrible two's" are a time in a child's life that requires attention, energy and focus from the parent. When you are practically 50, and staring Menopause right in the face, a two year old is not the "fashion accessory" you need. I don't care how "trendy" it is for older women to become "first time mothers" - look at who they are - celebrities, musicians, singers, broadcast journalists and politicians wives, etc... Do you see a pattern emerging here? CORRECT, they are all people with MONEY, who can thereby PAY other PEOPLE to deal with these miniature spawn of Satan...
I don't see it as anything other than insecurity in themselves as women, that would make a person do something so unneccessary. I've heard of couples taking out a second mortgage on their home??? I'm not trying to demean anyone's desire to parent, but if that Maternal Instinct is so strong, there are more than enough children via the Foster care system or awaiting Adoption, that are in need of loving homes and families to be part of. And before you say it -... if you can afford Invitro... you can afford the therapy and support these children may need. Just because you may not have physically given birth, does not diminish your ability to love, or the quality of parent you'll be.
It's commonplace now for young women to suppress the natural desire to settle down and raise a family due to the overwhelming need to pursue higher education and solidify a career goal. I ain't mad at you - get yo' money, girl ... but we can't always have it both ways. We've seen women as old as sixty two, have themselves artificially inseminated. Unless they know something we don't and have found the fountain of youth somewhere, why would you do something so selfish to a child? You won't be here when he or she graduates college or "walks down the aisle" to get married, ...realistically - you might not even be around to see them through the 6th grade, and if you are, you'll be "old as mud" (yea, they say 40 is the "new" 30 and so on and so forth, but that "body" may say otherwise).
Many kids are embarrassed enough of their parents as it is, without having to explain the early stages of "old timers" (my daughter's reference to Alzheimers) to their friends who wonder why you've begun talking to yourself. And men, this goes for you too. Leaving a two year old behind at the age of 75 is just wrong, and you know it! The only people that were able to successfully do this lived thousands of years ago and had God's blessing to do so. By the time a man is 70 something, he should have nothing else to prove as far as virility, because any woman in the market for a 70 something year old man certainly isn't looking for a "baby daddy" (unless he comes with an influential name with a six figure salary attached).
Okay, okay, I may have been a little hard on you about this, but I feel like if it's meant to happen for you, it will. If not, it doesn't make you less of anything, it actually may mean you were meant to bless someone else in other ways. If we would only slow down and pay attention to something other than our own yearnings, we'd be able to see that throughout the world, children are dying from hunger and preventable diseases directly related to conditions of poverty daily. Wouldn't it be a far more rewarding thing to assist or adopt a child that otherwise would have no hope, than to spend $thousand$ of dollars for a procedure to obtain something that is already here and plentiful? Just my opinion y'all, and we do live in a country that allows me that, along with the freedom of speech. Peace
