What is this world coming to? ... is it open season on children, and I missed the announcement?

How in the world does the judicial system rule that the death penalty for a child rapist constitutes cruel and unusual punishment for the rapist or molester (???) Is not rape cruel? especially the rape of a child? Some child victims have been viciously brutalized, and while this abuse was being inflicted - no one stepped up to protect them, and then the courts want to be lenient and humane - with the abusers??? WHO CARES about the treatment of these MONSTERS?

If I were a Millionaire, I'd pay to have the nation's water tested - I want to know what's makin' the people in this country so crazy - especially those who are in authoritative positions. Not only have the lawmakers lost all sense of right and wrong, but we already had priests molesting children, and now educators (meaning not just teachers, but principals, coaches and cafeteria workers too - might as well say, some of err'body) are having sexual relations with students, some even doin' them in groups ... is that not "twisted" ??? Then we wonder what's wrong with half of society.

I can tell you exactly what's wrong ... they are angry. When your innocence is stolen from you, especially when it's done brutally, and then the system you turn to for protection and justice lets you down, you can't help but be angry. This anger festers and becomes a forceful rage that needs to be let out, and unfortunately ... someone, (who may not have had anything to do with what you went through), ...somewhere along the way, may get hurt. Watch then, how the same system that lets an individual down, will be ever so quick to impose a punishment for a crime that possibly may never have happened had some therapy, rehabilitation, and stricter laws been in place originally. It's a shame that our nation allowed the separation of Church and State to take place, because the Bible gives us clear instruction in most all matters, and in this case the scripture at Proverbs 21:3 is applicable ... To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice ... and sacrificing these victims and their pain to their oppressors is exactly what has happened (*note - this is solely this author's opinion).

I don't understand how the courts come to these decisions, but we can rest assured that before it's all over with, there will be consequences for "someone" to face. It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to associate a "serial killer" with the word "dysfunction". Kids don't just wake up one day, and say, "I wanna be a killer when I grow up!" (at least not normal ones anyway). Something happens along the way to formulate the out of control character they eventually become. And trust me when I say "no one" is immune to Societal Stress having an impact on their lives ... (heck, I might end up a lil' over the top myself if gas continues to stay at these outrageous prices!)

All I can say is "change" is long overdue in not only our political system, but within society as a whole. The judges who pass these laws won't be around generations from now to deal with the repercussions, but their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren will ... as well as ours. Proverbs 20:7 tells us that ... The Just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him... I don't know who hasn't heard the saying ... "what goes around, comes around" ... but it couldn't hurt any of us to start praying, ... now. peace out til next time - copyright pending 2007
