Session Two:
This wasn't a car session... I made it purely a silly trick training session...
1. Lift paw according to which foot I lift. She started to get this pretty good with me standing in front of me, so I worked on getting her to sit next to me (she always wants to be in front) so I heeled her (still C/Ting for that) and got her to sit next to me... then did the foot thing, and she took a moment then got it... this was a second session for that one...
2. Go through my legs, basic... purely lured here... have to decide on a signal, I guess, but for now, it is to put my hand behind my right leg to get her to go through and wrap around my right leg... didn't do left...
3. Reinforce lie down and begin roll over... I started with pulling the treat from in front of her nose to her butt to get her to flop on her side (not an easy feet for her) but on the last try, I actually got her to go all the way over! Woohoo...
I didn't do any of these with Kaya yet, well, not that I haven't one them yet, just not tonight.. she knows these already... trying to get Blue caught up, then I will alternate them more often. I don't want to get Kaya fat, so I need to think ahead so I can alter her meals...
I have noticed that by doing this stuff, Blue has become more focused on me in general. Still a nightmare with major distractions though, but in the yard she is getting better despite distractions. I haven't brough the trick training outside yet though. still do that inside... weather is getting better so we will be mroe inclined to work outside more... sure plenty of distractions will present themselves to help start...
