The Mets won the makeup game 8-3 today as the Maine event won again.  They finished the homestand 8-1 and have 80 victories against 49 defeats going into the last week of August.

We finally got some much needed rain in the whole area today.  The rains started around 8 am and didn't end until 3.  There were showers and thunderstorms yesterday but we didn't get but a sprinkle at my house.  At least the temps won't be in the 100 degree range this week.

Back to the Mets....they manufactured runs today, not using the long ball for the win.  But Ryan Howard went deep again.  The story says that it was his 7th home run in 15 games and he hit one in all three games of this series.  No sophmore jinx for Howard, last year's ROY.  I haven't decided if I am going to stay for tomorrow's Ranger game or if I will turn in the tickets for a later date.  either way, i won't be there long since I have to work Wednesday morning.  Plus, Rhian has a cold that he is trying to get over.
