It was good to see Peter Gammons at Fenway Park yesterday. He looked good and reports are saying he is recoving well. I've always appreciated Mr Gammons reporting on baseball. I remember the April Fool's joke that either Sports Illustrated or the Sporting News did years ago about the mythical Mets pitcher. The first letters of the column's title said something to the effect of having a happy April Fool's Day. It will be good to hear Mr. Gammon's take on baseball again and I can't wait for him to return.
I looked at the pictures on the Mets website of the guys from the '86 Championship Team! Many of them looked like they could still play. It's ashame that Doc wasn't there. Perhaps when he is released soon he can turn is life around finally.
El Duque had an up pitching performance today as the Mets blanked the Rockies 2-0 to sweep the series. They got those 3 games back that they gave to the Phillies last week. Now the Phils come to NY on tuesday. I hope the pitching can shut them down since they won't be in that home run park of theirs. We need Brian Bannister to come back from that hamstring injury in time for the playoffs (assuming we hold on). Tom Glavine won't know if his season is over until sometime this week. A blood clot was found in his shoulder which was causing his ring finger on his left hand to go cold. Get well soon Tom.
