August is here and the Mets are still in first place. They lost to the Marlins last night on a walk off homer given up by Billy Wagner in their half of the ninth. the Mets still have the best record in the National League, and are keeping pace with the Yankees to provide hope for another Subway Series since 2000.

I celebrated my 47th birthday on Monday in court and moving to a new apartment. The stairs in this place are going to either kill me or help me shed some pounds. The court thing was an incident that happened near the 7-11 that I used to work at. I had to testify in court that the guy came into my store minutes before assaulting a woman in her apartment and stealing her car.

My buddy Rick is celebrating his 47th birthday today and Ken will be 47 soon. Old geezers! I think they will get their AARP cards before me.
