Entry for December 29, 2006 The Police have my Cache!
I had just walked in the door from running to the store and attempted to log into my email to see what is going on. Then the phone starts ringing. First it was just a family member then I get a call from Kand. He was letting me know that on the group site Beatnik posted that the War Acres Police had one of my caches. What! After a brief visit with Kand I figured out which cache it was. Don't you know that it took me 30 minutes to find my note book. I took it out of safe keeping to help a fellow cacher earlier in the day and sat it down. It was lost in the Christmas explosion otherwise known as my living room. I quickly gave the police a phone call. They said there wasn't anything wrong. Be still my beating heart. The cache had been turned into them as a lost property. WHEW! Infact they sounded really appreciative of how well the container was marked. I told them that there were several others in the area and they said there was no problem. So in short I guess I need to give Two Left Feet a big THANK YOU! It was your little incident at my first cache of this type that made me change my SL series containers. I now use a white film canister and have them clearly marked that it is a gamepiece. Now as several of you know they also have clue or code on them for the second series. This is what actually helped me to know which cache was in the hands of the athorities. So maybe those of you who are reading this learn from my lesson. Having really clearly marked cache containers really does help the police. This will keep a scary incident from going bad. Well now that I am starting to calm down. Maybe my New Years Resolution will be not to put out any more skirt lifter caches this year. Just maintain the ones I have (this means taking care of this one or replacing it). I think I'm ready to go back into the woods!
