Trying Office 2007 Beta
My company was invited to attend a partner update at Microsoft Indonesia office. Microsoft updated us it's 2007 program and told us that Vista and Office 2007 would be launched by the end of this year. Microsoft gave us Office 2007 Beta kits to be tried. They said that Office 2007 had been improved from last Office 2003.
Arriving office, I unpacked the CDs and inserted it to my ThinkPad CD Rom drive. I installed Office 2007 Beta and Sharepoint Designer 2007 (formerly known FrontPage). I think that there were much improvements on Office softwares Microsoft has. For example, Outlook 2007 is added with RSS tool. I can subscribe to RSS feeds as much as I want. The space to place RSS feeds is also easy to be configured. But, the feeds are given to us as a text. If we do not configure Outlook to download full content of a feed, Outlook will display it's title (header). We have to double click to open, no reading pane option available to this kind of subscribtion. On the other hand, if we choose to download full content of a feed, reading pane is available to be activated. But, do not expect Outlook 2007 to give you a full featured HTML feed. It provides you feeds as text file. If you like to share the feeds, you can forward them as easy as forwarding emails. I recommend you to try Office 2007 Beta. I am satisfied with that. 2006-08-15 17:32:15 GMT
