Donna Leon: Blood From A Stone
Another excellent novel about Commissario Brunetti which again gives a
convincing portrayal of Venice without hyperbole and presents a rounded
picture of Brunetti and his family. The plot is possibly a little overblown
though not until the denouement. Not only Brunetti's family environment
but also his working one are skillfully depicted with economy. The whole
series is well worth seeking out - and I must try one of the German TV
adaptations soon.
