RANDOM RAMBLINGS
...Just stuff that rattles around in my head that I want to remember. Rants, prayers, and bad poetry.

I am in a beautiful public library in Marshall, N.C.

The back wall is a row of plate-glass windows filled by the glorious view of a mountainside. There is a very inviting children's section in this library with a painted archway as an introduction to the magic it contains.

Last night there was a serious rain and wind storm that lasted most of the night. Our little pop-up was blown about a bit, but stood its ground. Madeline was safe and dry in the van as were we in our camper. We were able to maintain power this time, so our heater kept us quite comfortable. I slept through the night with the sound of the river and the wind lulling me. At around 5:00 a.m. a large limb fell and crashed into our metal roof. That was a definite eye-opener.

We're going into Ashville for a bit this morning because the rain hasn't let up yet. We're hoping to get a good hike in later in the day and then reward ourselves with a hot soak at the mineral bath spa. Madeline is in serious need of a bath, but dogs are not allowed...
