I was just lucky enough:

So today we went to pick up Dad after his trip to Rhode Island on business, and we decided to go shopping at Avon. One of the places she loves to go is Lowes because they have a pretty decent garden center. So we pulled in tonight, with an unexpected surprise. Hendrich's Motorsports was showing off the Lowes sponsered #48 NASCAR driven by Jimmy Johnson in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series. Also for all you fans out there, Jimmy Johnson's racing partner in crime is Jeff Gordon in the #24 DuPont Chevy.

Luckily, I had a camera on hand, and was able to snap several pictures. These are small, and if you would like large versions, please email me or message me and let me know, and I will be happy to do so. Also, a representative from Hendrich's motorsports was there to snap my picture (for free even) and I will be able to pick it up online in 72 hours, so I can't wait to see how that looks.

In the meantime, enjoy the pictures I've taken. Oh yes...I did wear my Dale Earnhardt hat in the picture taken of me, and all honesty, the boys from Hendrich's motorsports have a great deal of respect for Dale, and DEI, and Richard Childress Racing...and the feud between Hendrich's and DEI fans pretty well stops at the safety fence protecting the bleachers. I am truly impressed guys. Keep up the good work!

This is one of those websites I'll create and update pretty well whenever I feel like it. Basically its just a Weird Picture of the (insert time increment here.)
Take Me Home!
This is the rear of the cutaway car, just to show you how things looked. In the rear, you can see the braided fuel line running from the filler on the left side of the car into the fuel cell. Also there's a clear plastic hose running out to the left "tail light" that basically blows fuel out it if the tank ever gets over-pressured.
This is the left side of the cutaway car. Looks pretty normal doesn't it? I like the plexiglass hood though. That's a cool touch. Standing on this side of the car will rattle your eye teeth! And yes, that is my dad off to the right.
This is the right side rear of the cutaway car, as you can tell. This stuff is really cool. I must say, I saw an engenious idea on those cars. Alot of times, if the aerodynamics of the car isn't right, or the ride is too rough, they have to change the spring rates. Now on a normal car, you'd do this by getting under it, pulling off the tire, dropping the rear axle, pulling out your suspension, and putting new springs in, put the axle back on, and put the tire back on, and hope it works right. If its not to your liking, you have to take it off and do it again. Not NASCAR buddy...they have a threaded plate on a big screw. If you don't like the ride, you just put your 1/2 inch drive socket wrench on it, give it a few turns, and the car acts completely different. I'd say whoever invented that is probably patting themselves on the back. They deserve it too.
This is one of his race cars, this one wasn't torn apart either. I've never seen this car race, but it had some wear on the tires, so I wonder if it actually has, or if it will soon?
Another picture of the Spongebob Special.
This is the engine that they use in every one of Hendrich's owned cars. And similar configurations exist in all the Chevies of NASCAR. These engines pump out about 800 horsepower, and there's two really cool things about them. Number one, if you stand on the left side of the car where the exhaust ports are, and that thing is running, it will rattle you right down to your soul. Yup, that's how loud they are. And number two, put your hand on your desk. Feel how nice and smooth it is? No vibrations right? Well...if it is, you've got some serious problems with your desk...anyways, that's how these engines run! They're balanced so well, they vibrate as much as your desk does. Everything is perfectly balanced so that engine can make those 9000 rpm laps around the track and not blow up in short order. Now that is COOL!!!
