Many times women are counseled or other wise advised to seek out methods by which to artificially set their labor in motion.
Making a decision to induce labor is not one to be made willy-nilly, or without the advice of your physician. Many times people are making the choice based on such reasons as matters of convenience. Sometimes a woman is simply tired of being pregnant, and wants to end the pregnancy posthaste. Other times it's because their favorite doctor may be away on holiday when they're due, or other times it is based on, believe it or not, astrology, favorite dates and so on.
Needless to say, none of these are valid reasons to induce labor, by whichever method they have chosen. This is a decision that needs to be made in concert with the best medical advice the woman can obtain, and not based on convenience or wants.
