May 17, 2007 London trains and tube
Been travelling with South West Trains this week to London. Then its a tube ride on Jubilee line, and Northern Line to Old Street Station.

London Underground has been unusually devoid of problems this week. And South West Trains have been ok. I have noticed a very long queue at my station to get tickets from the one and only machine there, though. Normally we have a ticket office open, too. I am sure many people have missed their train because of the queue. Luckily, I bought a ticket for the week! Its a bit of a novelty to go to London occasionally, but thank goodness I dont have to commute there every day, I think it would get me down. The tube crush is the worst thing about it.

I am not sure what goes on in the minds of those (muppet) people who wont move down the carriage, even when there are people on the platform who cant get on the train??? They must be really really thick, or really really selfish. Both, maybe?  And why cant a tube driver bring the train to a smooth stop?

Look out for my report on my next trip, Belgium in a week or two. Do you think I should fly or go with Eurostar?
