Entry for September 28, 2006
We had guests over in August. Here's a fusion spread - chicken cubes fried with cashew nuts, pork chops, brocollis with mushrooms, cheese in springrolls (...thanks Z!), omellete in ham, prawns fried with green peas and Chinese soup. Served with rice. It's a pretty sad week. There's this really top notch fish-soup stall that I know of, which will be closing down by Friday this week. Thanks to a rent hike. Now when I say top-notch, I mean it. The fish is chunky, tasty, evenly-dried and fresh. No gimmick of covering chunks with thick layers of flour. A good bunch of vegetables can thrown into the soup when served. Yummy! The lady boss of the stall had openly and loudly declared to me in the midst of the lunch crowd - "Last day this Friday. How to pay $2,000 rent?!" I've been having fish soup since Monday to pay my last respects to the stall presence, but have foregone it today thanks to a lunch appointment and likely to miss it tomorrow. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.-John 6:27 2006-09-28 07:11:22 GMT
