I've been avoiding this but I've decided to do this. I have seen it done by others and it seems like a good idea.
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I am not in a cult no matter who told you that or how you reached that conclusion it is not correct. I believe in personal revelation which is also known as answers to personal prayer, and I don't always have to pray to get this revelation, one of the ordinances I received becoming a member was the gift ( not just the power) of the Holy Ghost. So I get revelation even when I have not prayed a specific prayer, the instruction is specifically for me. I don't get this for a neighbor or strangers. one of the beliefs i follow is to obey the laws of the land, one of the laws in the United States of America is against polygamy that is why it is not practiced in the church I belong to.
I have been asked many times if I am Christian, by people who just barely know me. Since Jesus name is in the name of my church, yes. I am nice to people even when they are not nice to me. Its a commandment. I don't do tobacco or alcohol or illicit drugs, I didn't have to give any of it up because I never did it. I don't like beer never have. Though I like the smell of coffee, it tastes nasty to me so I never go into it.
If you are not a member of my church I have no problem with you, but I do request that you stop calling me a Mormon, I am a Latter Day Saint. The definition of Saint is not a perfect person it is someone striving to live the way Jesus lived. None of us are sinless, if you kill a bug or cuss under your breath you need forgiveness. I know I do. I believe in asking forgiveness every day, I pray over every meal and I pray for those I know have health issues and other challenges daily. everybody needs prayers.
