Survival is in the Genes

This paper shall examine the field of social intelligence in respect to our Intelligence Quotient, also known as IQ. Many different aspects of life influence an individual’s intelligence, or even our own mind on the ability to think and survive. It’s been said, that as we grow older, we become wiser. I will introduce you to the different aspects of how life experience and education can make someone intelligent.

People who are exposed to society, who are interested in culture, politics, social events, world crisis and education tend to be wiser than people who are less educated.

I have researched information from professionals who have been studying in this field for many years, who in which will better support my statement.

Ever ask yourself why some people seem to be ill less often than others, or wonder why some people’s brain seem to absorb information better than others?

Our bodies instinct is to survive, and our DNA pool was programmed in order to allow humanity to evolve with better conditions.

Some people claim that intelligence is derived from our DNA, and others simply argue that society in a whole might influence someone to survive.

Firstly, let me add that DNA was programmed in order to survive and reproduce. The intelligence genes were coded in there to further enrich our survival, in order to make wise decisions and pick our mate for reproduction.

To further my knowledge on this subject, I typed up a questionnaire with four questions, which allowed me to better understand how intelligence could be factored.

Let me further add, the survey was handed out to 28 individuals in my education centre, in which 55% of the people surveyed were between the ages of 17 and 22. The other 45% of people surveyed were in their adulthood and considered to be wise.

The first question that was asked on my questionnaire was, how or what people defined as being” intelligent”. I broke up the four choices to define four types of people.

The first choice was, someone who knows a lot. Which in general, describes someone who is wise, but I don’t give a general age. Twenty nine percent of my responses chose this one.

Eleven percent chose someone who is educated with limited life experience, which defines someone coming out of cejep, college or possibly university.

Twenty one percent answered someone who is street smart with life experience. This answer surprised me because I was expecting a lot better result for this choice.

Seven percent of respondents chose someone who is involved in society, with little education, which also surprised me. Most of our elders would be considered in this choice because back in their days, they had little education, but with their life experience and wisdom, passed through generations, would be considered to be wise!

This is where things got a little more interesting. Thirty two percent of the respondents chose to write their own choice because they thought I was not being specific enough.

I consider these people to be more conscient of life around them and intellectual, where they need to be specific and have concrete solid facts.

One person chose none of the above, but they didn’t give an explanation. Another said intelligence would be someone who can succeed in his or her environment. As well, someone mentioned that intelligence is the ability to process information, and to find the meaning understanding. A few others explained, that it may be a combination of different aspects, through the common sense, life experience, someone who can tell the difference between right and wrong, and the way someone chooses to learn.

Furthermore, although many people tend to see and process information differently, no one is to judge who is intelligent or not. If the majority of people chose another option, would that put them into a different category from the ones who picked from the list? Not necessarily, but it will be further detailed.

The second question asked on my questionnaire was, if an educated person ranging from the ages of twenty to forty, could have the advantage of being “smarter”. Their healthier lifestyle and energetic levels, which enable them to process information faster and easier, compared to someone aged between forty-one to seventy.

Fifty-seven percent of respondents answered that yes; they have a better advantage of being smarter, compared to forty-three percent of respondents answered that no; they do not have an advantage over the younger generation.

The third question asked was; someone who works with the public, could they have a better advantage of having a higher IQ, compared to someone who is not exposed to the public.

Twenty-five percent answered yes, sixty-four percent answered no, and eleven percent was undecided.

These results troubled me. Someone who is exposed to the public will be more knowledgeable than a factory worker who is not exposed to the world around them. Furthermore, I will explain my thought on this throughout my essay.

Finally, my last question surveyed was to ask an opinion and to give me a brief explanation. The question was as follows: “Do you think people’s IQ can be scaled depending on the profession they are working in?” The answer for this is yes. There is research to prove it.

The example I included was the following: Let’s say a cashier in a store compared to her manager. Now, I know there are exceptions, but please be logical. That cashier could be smarter than her manager in knowing some of the tasks that need to be done, but does that give her the right to judge her manager in saying that he doesn’t know how to run his business?”

Twenty-one percent-answered yes, two percent were undecided, and seventy-one percent answered no.

For the majority of people who answered no, you gave me a good explanation in which I completely agreed with you. In general, although the cashier might know more information than her employer, on the tasks she does or general life experience or knowledge. Her manager has the education and the ability to run his business. It may not be the same knowledge they share, but generally speaking, she would not be able to handle the amount of responsibilities he has. She has no right to tell her boss that he doesn’t know how to run the business, although her opinion can be heard if she expresses herself properly. This will be further explained. There are people who like to think they are more knowledgeable than others and give themselves authorities.

IQ Facts

What is IQ and what does it stand for. IQ can be measured by a formulae known as IQ = MA/CA * 100  (MA~ Mental Age, CA~ Chronological Age).

People’s IQ is increased when they are exposed to an enriched environment and decreases when exposed in an impoverished environment.

IQ is hereditary, passes in the genes. It is known that in bigger families, the IQ pool dilutes.

According to blah blah blah, ……

Education influences IQ, It promotes better healthy habits; helps to adjust better with society (morally and emotionally) and can gain leadership positions. This includes working with people, whether it may be with the general public, politics or health care. (See question #3 that I had asked in Questionnaire) Most people asked (64%) said the public did not influence someone’s IQ. This proves that most people are not open to that suggestion. Only 28 people were surveyed, but it’s enough to prove my point.

When people are educated in society, we tend to have lower health problems; fewer riots and also we diminish the amount of delinquent people. People tend to want more professional jobs.

As stated above, if a person works with the public, their IQ tends to be higher. So why would the majority of people surveyed in an educational centre answer no (64%) that it doesn’t influence one’s IQ. This troubles me and I will further explain my point of view.

Check page 6,

The av erage IQ of the population is 100. IQs range from 0 to above 200, and some children can make it up to 250. 50% of the population have IQs that range between 89-111, 80% range from 80 and 120, 10% below 80, and 10% above 120.

People who range below 75 IQ are known to be difficult to train and don’t have the will for a competitive occupations.

People with IQs ranging from 75 to 90 tend to have high school dropouts, and often to be jailed for crimes.

Remember how different aspects of social life, culture, and ethnic groups can influence IQ, it will soon be explained.

Another example would be people who are not interested in world politics, economics, laws, events that happen live around the world, such as world crisis. These people tend to have lower IQ scores, because once again, it proves my point on people not being interested in the world around them, and not having a social influence to enrich their knowledge. These people tend to isolate themselves with their surroundings, and close the world around them in fear of world crashing down on them.

Parapsychology is another form of intelligence and can be scaled on the IQ table. These people have the ability to read people’s minds, predict one’s future or even predict some astrology, which in all predicts what the future holds for us. Would they be classified on the same rank as the great philosophers we know, like Einstein, Nostradomus, Descartes or Newton? Possibly, but I will explain.

These famous people are known to range from an IQ of 150 to 200. People who rank in this range are extremely rare, and only happen at a rate of .1% of the population, or 1 out of 60,000 people.

Just for facts, 50% of the population lies below-average intelligence, which the IQ is 100.

People with IQs ranging from 70-90 typically work as unskilled labourers. Such as lawn maintenance or trash pick-ups. They generally need help from friends or family to help with life’s complications. They also tend to hold restaurant jobs or other unskilled jobs. Sixteen percent of the population live in this range.

People with IQs of 100 and above hold semi-skilled positions such as typists, assembly line workers, receptionists or checkout clerks.

These people are able to keep up with the world and make up about 50% of the population.

People with IQs of 110 and above fill about 20% of the population and tend to have professional jobs such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, and other related field of studies.

To conclude my research blah blah blah
