or,
http://leopard.cs.latrobe.edu.au/~baragry/NewAlfa/
for the new alfa romeo home page, set up and maintained by jason
baragry.
at some point there will be an automated update mechanism, for now
people can send additions/updates to me and i'll make sure they get in
(although i can't guarantee when).

Subject: Cool and funny stuff on the Web
Hi all! I've been looking on for a long time, and now and finally gotton some
good or maybe not so good info to post
For those with Web browsers the _best_ Alfa site is at:
http://194.20.24.86/
You just have to see it to beleive it (Netscape 2.0 and Java needed)
Shell Oil, one of Ferrari's major sponsors has a OK site with some pics and
info of the Ferrari F1 cars at:
http://www.shell-ferrari.com/
Also F1 Team MINARDI is at:
http://www.datasail.it/minardi/
In their history they state:
In 1991 Minardi adopted the V12 Ferrari engine. The staff strugged to overcame
this great technical difficulty and the season finished looking up with the 7th
place in the World Constructor Championship, after the 4th places in Imola and
Estoril.
What a hoot!

Hi all
I don't remember who sent this address on this list but:
http://194.20.24.86/
is just a real cool place to go if you use Netscape with frame capabilities
(v2.0). Definately a page worth bookmarking.

Thanks to all for the response to my GTC questions. I have purchased
one from California. The car is by Touring and is not a GTV chop. I
have checked this with Alfa in Italy. If any Alfa buffs are interested
in when their car(s) were manufactured a simple FAX to:
Fiat Auto
Viale Alfa Romeo
Centro Documentazione Storica
Attention: Elvira Ruocco
FAX number from U.S.A. is 011 392 9315746
will get the information.
Fiat Alfa may hate me for this. But the service is great. A response
from them will come in about two days. If you give AR000000* they can
tell you the exact date it was manufacturerd, model, original color,
and who the first owner was. In some instance the date of first
regisitration if it was originally registered in Italy.
Check out (http://www.shore.net/~alfista) with out the brackets
Thanks again!!!!!!

Subject: Lancia Badges Done
Greetings, fellow Italian Car-philes,
I've completed my CAD versions of the Lancia badges (both the shield and the
"word only" badge as seen on the rear of the Beta series) and they now reside
on my home page with the CAD Alfa logo, and JPG versions of both, as well as
other Alfa artwork. The URL is:

Next, the Fiat and Maserati badges......

Subject: "CAR" ARTICLES ON ALFA ROMEO, MILANOTES
Most Alfisti have heard about "Car" magazine, but in case some haven't,
please find one. It is extremely well written with superb photographs
and a lot of enthusiasm, expecially for Alfas. Comparison tests are very
thorough and well documented..lots of news about touring car circuits..
It's a great source of news from over there as to what's happening...and
NOW you can get it on the Internet!!! Address is
HTTP://WWW.MPN.COM/EOL/CAR/
Current articles (with pictures) include a Giant Test comparison, done in
Italy, with competitors being the Alfa Romeo 155 16V twin spark, BMW
318I, Ford Mondeo, and Renault Laguna. The conclusion made this
Alfista teary-eyed..."The spirit of its engine, the eagerness of its chassis,
its single-mindedly Italian mien, all these cannot help but capture the
heart." Guess who won! Another article is a test drive of the new
145. It starts out with "Please, O God of auto-lust,let this car be good.
We've been asking for this car ever since the Alfa 145 captivated our
eyes and disappointed most of our other sensory perceptions." Still
another article is titled "Corrective Surgery" and reviews how four
automakers have redone "dogs" to make them great cars. This includes
the 155 "Then there was the Alfa 155 2.0 twinspark, the car that ousted
the last rear-drive Alfa (the 75) and foisted on an ever-diminishing band
of Alfisti a bastard blend of corporate Fiat chassis components,an
increasingly throttled Alfa engine and almost wilfully frumpy styling."
The article outlines a long list of technical revisions that have vastly
improved the 155...a smaller second plug that now sits by the exhaust
valve, relocated dampers, the best steering rack in its class, etc....the
article also discusses some staffing changes at Alfa/Fiat that will be
good for Alfa Romeo.
MILANOTE: Milanowners will appreciate this: ...in conversation with an
employee at Tweeks automotive I learned that he had worked with a
dealership in 1988 and had been exposed to a good variety of Alfas. He
stated he could walk past the spiders and Giulias but had never
forgotten one Alfa he had driven. It was a Verde. He is now looking
for one to purchase.
