August 25: Just learned that my August 30 surgery was cancelled when Dr. Skendaris learned his malpractice insurance would no longer cover him for it. I am not sure I want to know why.
I have contacted Atlantic Surgical Associates and will consult with them next Wednesday the 1st of September.
This is slamming me emotionally. I know now how an astronaut must feel when a mission is scrubbed during the countdown. I was so ready mentally, emotionally, economically, and now I have to back away from the launch pad and start back at mission control. Oh well, at least the new surgeon specializes in RNY surgery. I am a little concerned that he is doing it open, and will probably take my gall-bladder out as well. But I guess that's a couple more ounces of weight lost, eh?
